Decolonisation guarantees more war. Not high tech, precision warfare between superpowers that mostly targets military facilities and hardware, but low tech, systematic murder between tribal and ethnocentric micro states on account of multigenerational grievances and insecurities. Paradoxically, the biggest existential threat to ideological Zionism is the disappearance of antisemitism; one cannot sell a ‘sanctuary’ to a people who have nothing to run away from. The more insecure the sanctuary the greater the demand for the fear of the Other.

The ultimate insurance against anything that disobeys the reflexive structure of being, against anyone who subjugates or destroys by contradicting the universal conditions of Self-consciousness, is time. Time is justice; it resolves non-sense into absense.

Consciousness as a multiplicity is consistent with individual Birth and Death

Self-consciousness does not begin or end at birth but always exists as a multiplicity; individual selves do not exist apart from the multiplicity of ‘others’ who collectively sustain a shared world of meaning.

The phenomenon of individual birth and death is nevertheless an outstanding explanatory challenge. The simplest answer may be that human sexual reproduction is already an idea that explains how the multiplicity is ontologically integrated, interrelated, and how it sustains itself. The body is a conceptual tool of consciousness, a means for collectively generating the meaning that constitutes the world. The body is not of itself already consciousness or a reflexive Self; it is merely guided by conscious agency.

One could argue that Self-consciousness is not born and does not die, but it is rather the world that is re-produced for new individual perspectives, in order to incrementally complete consciousness as a reflexive multiplicity. Time itself is an idea, a property of consciousness, hence it does not make sense to analyse consciousness as something that begins or ends.

The world is an object-language by means of which the multiplicity of conscious selves communicates with each individual self. Sometimes we misunderstand it. The meaning of this object language is continuously augmented by individual communication in meta-language, which includes all spoken and written languages that individuals use to articulate the sense of the world.

Unless our self-conception is internally consistent and consistently integrated with the world as we know it, every intention will reproduce the underlying inconsistencies. The inconsistent reasons that motivate the intention do not match the world and are bound to produce effects that were unintended, contrary to our self-conception. It takes time for our non-sense to be mediated by the world and return to us.

Being unable to change our path is, I argue, a consequence of bad moral choices in the past, choices that made us deterministic, less real as conscious agents. The implication of becoming less conscious is precisely that we are unaware of being less conscious, less real. We think we are just where we should be, as real as ever, but only the inconsistencies in our relations with everything else can reveal to us the way that leads back, but even this requires great discipline, a degree of latent consciousness, and a deep, unconscious drive to return, left behind by something more we were in the past. Most will never return. Crucially, this is not a crisis, but part of the process of humanity becoming more, and even in this dire state we are now more human than ever. It is still always a choice, for those who can make it.

The ideology of altruism (sometimes presented under the guise of ‘solidarity’) entails the most extreme form of oppression: that your self-interest does not matter, that your only legitimate worth is as a tool and resource for others. Its motivational strategy is that of vilifying self-interest and thus creating conditions under which people can avoid moral stigma only by serving the interest of the ruling power. Altruism is a tool of motivating compliance. In essence, altruism is a lie that appeals to a coercively limited scope of self-interest.

Moral philosophy and Self-interest
It is logically impossible to even conceive of a reason to be moral unless morality appeals to our self interest, since reasons are already expressions of self-interest. In everything that we intend to do we fulfil our preference for acting in a particular way; we always do just what we prefer to do out of the available possibilities, or else we would not intend do it. In the moral sense, when we prefer to help other people, we are motivated by our interest/desire/preference for helping them. As such, pure altruism (and, by the same toke, pure hatred) is logically impossible, but this is precisely what makes moral philosophy consequential. By appealing to the self interest of oppressive institutions we give them the only possible motivation to change their ways, or else our assertions about rights have zero appeal to them, and they continue to oppress and exploit because they can, and we never get what we claim is ‘right’.
We are not persuasive unless we appeal to their self interest, and we do not appeal to their self interest unless our argument appeals to the self interest of others and acknowledges the motivational primacy of self interest. The challenge for moral philosophy is to find an interest that all people have in common, and which is ultimately more useful to us than the desire to exploit and control others.

It is conceivable that democracy is only nominally about the majority rule but is essentially a moral test: those who are willing to impose their preferences on others by the arbitrary standard of being in the majority are implicitly denying that preferences can be objectively right or wrong in their own right, thus negating the rationality of their choices and the authority of their own preferences. It then follows that this collective self-negation has representative priority over the negated preferences. If this is right then the abusive, humiliating, deceitful and exploitative governments are not a failure of democracy but express its proper function, provided it is applied only to those who vote.
