Regarding the ‘Welcome to Sex’ controversy, which very much looks like an intentional provocation, with an expected emotional and possibly violent reaction, the ideal response would be political (pursuing new legislation to prevent such harmful publications being available to kids in the future) or legal (if a case can be made against it on the basis of the existing legislation).
Looks like this will end badly for the authors and the publisher of this perverse book, as it should. The doctrine of subjectively determined gender identity, exemplified by the slogan "trans-women are women", discriminates against and invalidates the identity of those whose gender and gender expression are based on the innate sense of difference from the opposite sex. Parents are outraged that their children are exposed to sexually explicit, abnormal, increasingly perverse and sexualising content in books, freely available in school and public libraries, and stocked by their local book store, under the guise of sexual health and consent education. They fail to realise that they implicitly agreed to this and to other, yet to be manifested violations, when they acquiesced to the taking away of the right to free medical consent in 2020. They gave it up not just for themselves but also for their children, and this is the error that must first be fixed, because everything that happens now is a consequence of this fundamental betrayal. Yes, you put that mask on your child just because the State told you it was healthy and right, for the greater good, disregarding the fact that you muted and defaced your own child, and now they will be violated in even more perverse ways, because you betrayed them first, you failed to protect them from evil. You have to go back to where it started and fix your own moral error.

There are at least two incompatible meanings of 'trust': trust in someone's good intentions vs trust in their right actions. The former is subjective, the latter is objective. People expect to be 'trusted' by friends because they have no bad intentions, but 'good' intentions (wishing 'good' for you) amount to little in contexts were people are ignorant, conceited, deluded, and therefore not fully capable of discerning right action from wrong action, harm from benefit. For example, a 14 year old child may have good intentions, but would you trust them to operate heavy machinery? Similarly, your friends or family might be good company over dinner but would you trust them with the biometric data of your child, especially if they find your privacy concerns 'eccentric'? You may trust them when it comes to borrowing money, because liability for personal debt is within the range of their moral comprehension, but it would be irrational to trust them in matters outside the scope of their moral competence.

There is no use arguing against the removal of the freedom of speech or property rights on the basis of human rights, after failing to defend the right to free medical consent on the same basis. Every present or future legal battle about the limits of state authority will have to return the point where the majority implicitly gave away their human rights by acquiescing to vaccine mandates. If the ruling power uses unethical means to present you with a moral challenge after moral challenge, and you persistently fail them, then you are not a victim of injustice but its perpetrator. The ruling power can thus derive a utilitarian mandate to rule over you from the premise that if you were in their place you would be just as bad or worse. By the same token, the ruling power must submit to the moral authority of those who passed the moral challenge, or it would forfeit its own claim of authority.
Every revolution against oppression has ultimately failed for the same reason: the morally motivated minority has exhausted and sacrificed itself to defend the irrational, immoral majority from the consequences of their collusion, mistakenly regarding them as moral equals. The revolutionary spirit has thus preserved and carried the seed of chaos from the old system into the new system, guaranteeing its future corruption and re-emergence of new forms of tyranny. In essence, revolution is always premature, disrupting the collective evolution.
