The Indian government is closely monitoring Telegram after an investigation linked the platform to illegal activities such as financial scams, child abuse content, fake job frauds, and piracy. Authorities say they have received over 688,000 complaints related to Telegram since 2023 and are reviewing the app's role in online crime. Telegram says illegal content represents less than 0.1% of platform activity and that it continues to strengthen moderation measures. With over 150 million users in India, the platform is facing increased regulatory scrutiny.

• Lists (bulleted, numbered).
• Simple tables and one type of quote.
• Media (gallery, audio, and geo).
