💢 Israeli officials admit Iran rebuilt its missile arsenal faster than three straight wars could destroy it

The Jerusalem Post reports that both IDF and Mossad officials have been surprised by the speed of Iran's post-war military recovery, including in the ballistic missile production capability that three separate rounds of strikes were meant to permanently degrade.

In October 2024, Israel struck 20 missile and industrial targets and assessed a year-plus setback to Iranian production. By early 2025, Iran had already returned to full production pace. Israel then struck around 100 targets in June 2025, again assessing a multi-year setback. Iran's missile stockpile instead grew from roughly 1,300 to 2,500 by February 2026.

During this year's 40-day war, Israel and the US struck over 2,600 targets in roughly 30,000 combined strikes, more than 100 times the 2024 tempo, and estimated $300 billion in damage to Iran's military-industrial base. Fast forward four months, and IDF officials now tell the Post that Iran is again rebuilding faster than expected across multiple capability areas, including ballistic missiles.

Israeli officials say the debate over how many missiles Iran retained after the war matters less now than the pace at which it's rebuilding. If Iran sustains production of 100–300 missiles a month, it could return to pre-war stock levels by early-to-mid 2027.

💢 Zelensky is struggling to find a new Ukrainian ambassador to the United States, according to Politico, citing sources.

He accelerated personnel changes in the government, hoping to appoint former Prime Minister Sviridenko as ambassador in place of Stefanishyna. Sviridenko's refusal derailed the plan.

According to the former Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs, Ukrainians with sufficient authority are wary of the vacant diplomatic post.

💢 SpaceX has restored Poland to Starlink’s European roaming zone.

No new restrictions will apply to Polish customers, Digital Affairs Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski said.

Three days earlier, SpaceX removed Poland from its European service region without explanation. As a result, Starlink connectivity became more expensive for Polish users.

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski threatened Elon Musk with halting $50 million in Starlink payments. He was likely referring to Poland’s spending on Starlink services for Ukraine.

💢 Russia won't sink to Ukraine's level, but will make methods harsher: Lavrov on Ukraine's strikes on civilian targets

"After each such terrorist attack, representatives of the [Ukraine] regime proudly boast on social networks and other resources about how brilliantly they struck a beach, a dormitory where girls were studying to become teachers, and other purely civilian objects," Russian FM Sergey Lavrov said.

He stressed that Russia would not sink to their level but would make its own methods much harsher to destroy everything that feeds Ukraine's military machine from the West.

He warned that calls for a ceasefire are premature, explaining that stopping is only possible when there is a long-term, reliable, and sustainable settlement.

💢 The Telegraph acknowledges that the UK lacks the firepower to prevent Russia from seizing British cargo ships.

The newspaper quotes the words of the former First Sea Lord, Admiral Lord West. He stated that the British Navy has been constantly reduced and can no longer ensure the safety of shipping, and patrol ships are only used to demonstrate a presence.

The newspaper notes that they are poorly armed compared to the Russian fleet, including, for example, the cruiser "Varyag," which participated in exercises near the Kuril Islands this week.

As a reminder, Western countries have repeatedly seized tankers traveling from Russia. Putin subsequently promised a reciprocal response if they continue to attack commercial vessels.
