There is talk about NATO attempting to enter into Ukrainian territory to - essentially - establish a buffer zone like the US and NATO did in Syria.

The targeting of Moldova and Transnistria may be a pretext to get this process going and enable NATO to take territory near Odessa (before Russian forces reach there) to preserve what's left of Ukraine's access to the sea.
