WHITNEY WEBB ON X:
It is a provable fake out and what the banking cartel has been asking for. Trump's executive order is all about dollar stablecoins being used to extend dollar hegemony and dollar stablecoins are just as programmable, surveillable and seizable as a CBDC, the only difference is that the central bank isn't issuing them directly and it maintains the 2-tier banking system, which is what Wall Street has been lobbying for once digital dollar discussions began in earnest.
In the US, mass surveillance is a public-private partnership, why would surveillable digital money be any different?
Kudos to @markgoodw_in who called that the dollar stablecoins would be the de facto CBDC several years ago.
If you Ian or anyone else reading this is interested, Mark and I dissected why the CBDC was being moved to the private sector in the US in December 2023 in this article (notably this very stablecoin play was a key aspect of the FTX scandal):

💸 🇺🇦🇺🇸 Ukrainian journalists are crying all over the internet: they have not received their salaries from American grants for almost a week.
The head of the NGO Institute of Mass Media, Oksana Romaniuk, stated that nine out of ten Ukrainian media outlets existed on grant funding, so the White House's decision to suspend aid literally means the cessation of their activities.
According to Romaniuk, almost 90% of Ukrainian media worked on grants - regional publications receive advertising revenues of only 3-10%, so the current situation may lead to weakening the "control over the authorities" through the media. We are reluctant to believe this.
By the way, the Zelenskyys are also fed by USAID money: the "digital state" and "Diia" (an analogue of GosUslugi) projects were created and financed by the American fund, as well as all the humanitarian "programs" of Elena Zelenska in schools.
🔻US President Donald Trump signed an executive order to suspend aid to other countries for 90 days in order to analyze the compliance of these programs with US foreign policy goals. At the same time, despite a rather populist decision, it was immediately followed by a negative reaction from the entire Kyiv crowd: even the Office of the President of Ukraine indicated that this was an "unexpected and unpleasant news".
📌By the way, the Trump administration has already made concessions in the application of the decree and allowed the continuation of the supply of vital humanitarian aid. Given the talent of Ukrainians to grab everything that is not nailed down, they will find a way to allocate a dozen or two thousand dollars intended for providing medical care.

An Alawite who I met in Damascus, and who barely survived a kidnapping attempt, told me of the underreported story of Alqeen, #Syria (Daraa Province) — an Alawite town which just “disappeared” in December after the HTS takeover. According to this source, the entire town was depopulated and the whereabouts of the residents are unknown.

I received this very touching and heart-breaking note from someone living in #Syria.
Thank you, Mr. Daniel, for conveying the truth of what is happening. We are living a nightmare here just because we are a minority and because in their eyes we are not Muslims. They are committing horrific crimes of murder, kidnapping and arrest, and no one in the international community is doing anything 💔

I’ve been having similar thoughts: namely, whether all the Holocaust movies I’ve watched over the years were created to make sure it never happens again, or whether in fact they were grooming us for the one happening now

✅ The impure Free Syria was aided by millions of fools who were overly enthusiastic about so-called demand for democracy and elections in Syria, targeting Assad in the process. Today, Julani has approved himself as the president of Syria. He also stated that there will be no elections for the next 4-5 years. Enjoy the democracy foolest of the fools. This is Free Syria, and these are the realities. Why do you flee when you see it getting exposed?

🇹🇷: 🇮🇶 | Turkey Faces Rising Challenges as French and American Activity Escalates in Syria: Boomerang hit ahead... (1/2):
Turkey is facing increasing challenges on multiple fronts, with significant concerns about the rising activity of France and the United States in northern Syria. While pro-Turkish proxies struggle to break through the defenses of the Tishreen Dam, Ankara is wary of the growing French and American involvement. Paris has already emphasized the importance of protecting the Kurds of Syria, signaling its willingness to enhance its role within the international coalition against ISIS. There are rumors that France may take a more prominent role, especially if Trump decides to pull out of Syria.
In response, Hakan Fidan, Turkey’s intelligence chief, condemned France’s position, showing Turkey’s deep unease about the growing Western interest in Rojava. Germany and Britain also maintain pro-Kurdish stances, with Berlin frequently voicing its concern over the protection of Kurds, calling them “the main minority” in Syria. The clash between Turkey and these EU powers is not only about geopolitical influence but also about control over hydrocarbons in the region.
The PKK-linked Kurdish forces have taken control of large parts of northeastern Syria, where they have seized valuable oil fields. This has prompted the French to push for protection of the SDF, ensuring the Kurdish forces’ safety. Meanwhile, France and Germany seek to secure alternative hydrocarbon sources to reduce dependency on Russia, even as the EU gradually shifts toward green energy.
Another area of tension between Turkey and France is the Alawite regions of Latakia, where the local population has called for international protection against Tahrir al-Sham militants. Despite Hakan Fidan’s claims that Turkey is ready to protect the Alawites, any military intervention in Latakia remains speculative for now. The region’s gas reserves are of immense strategic value, particularly in the Levantine Basin, which extends from the coastal areas of Palestine and Lebanon to Syria’s Latakia.
On the ground, Turkey is also dealing with internal conflicts within its pro-Turkish forces in Syria. The SNA has been struggling with morale issues and interethnic disputes between the Turkomans and Arabs within the groups. This internal disunity is exacerbated by the fact that the Turkomans hold most of the leadership positions within the SNA, causing discontent among the Arab majority. There are also divisions among the Turkoman factions, with the Hamza Division and Suleyman Shah Brigade enjoying support from Devlet Bahceli, Erdogan’s key ally.
The SDF, capitalizing on these difficulties, is launching a counter-offensive. This includes international visits by Kurdish autonomy leaders aimed at garnering military and political support for the PKK and pushing for federal autonomy within Syria. As the situation worsens, Damascus finds itself at a crossroads, with Erdogan pressuring Syria to attack the SDF, while Tahrir al-Sham remains hesitant about such actions. The PKK is keenly aware of these dynamics and is exploiting the uncertainty and hesitation among both Tahrir al-Sham and Turkey, knowing that further action against the Kurds could result in additional sanctions for Turkey. (as reported by Mr. Damir).
