Steam Bridge: Host Minecraft through Steam - now available for 1.7.10–1.21.1
A little while ago I shared Steam Bridge, an open-source mod that lets you host Minecraft worlds through Steam instead of exposing ports, using VPNs, or relying on third-party relay services.
Instead of connecting to an IP address, players join using a Steam ID through Steam Networking. If you've ever had to deal with CGNAT, Hamachi, Radmin or port forwarding just to play with friends, that's exactly what Steam Bridge is meant to replace.
One of the most common requests in the previous post was support for newer Minecraft versions, so Steam Bridge now supports:
• 1.21.1 (NeoForge / Fabric)
• 1.20.1 (NeoForge / Fabric)
• 1.19.2 (Forge / Fabric)
• 1.16.5 / 1.12.2 / 1.8.9 / 1.7.10 (Forge)
I also made a few improvements based on the feedback from the previous post:
• Steam Bridge can now tunnel UDP traffic through Steam, allowing voice chat mods like Simple Voice Chat to work over the same Steam connection
• Steam IDs can now be added directly to Minecraft's normal server list, so reconnecting works just like joining any other saved server
Steam Bridge is fully open source and released under the MIT License.

(Feedback has been incredibly helpful so far, so bug reports and compatibility reports are always appreciated.)
Modrinth release: under review.
