🇺🇿 A key focus area for Uzbek producers and exporters today is the European Union. Uzbekistan is one of the few countries granted preferential access to European markets through the Generalized System of Preferences Plus (GSP+), enabling duty-free exports of over 6,000 types of goods to EU countries.

✍️ Uzbek businesses are actively leveraging these opportunities, steadily increasing export volumes each year. From January to September this year, exports to the EU reached $1.047 billion, marking a 33% rise over the same period last year. Leading exports under the GSP+ program include ready-made knitwear and hosiery, electrical goods, and chemicals.

🟠The Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade played a vital role in driving exports forward by organizing visits and business missions for heads of the leather and textile industries to industrial hubs in Portugal, Italy, Spain, Germany, and Poland. Here, productive discussions took place with key leaders of major organizations, companies, and trade associations.

🟠Uzbek business leaders held meetings with top management from Alba Tessile, T.I.S., Ametlab, ItalTex, Sartoria La Torre, SI Group, Rossorame, Weitblick, WLL GmbH, El Corte Inglés, Tendam, Gedepsa, ACIR Southern Europe, LEGS, PPHU JOLA-STYL, Colorinvest, Arlen, and Textile Group.

🟠Key agreements included the supply of finished textile products and fabrics, the establishment of a joint Italian-Uzbek brand, cooperation with European e-commerce platforms, and the launch of Uzbek trade centers within the EU. Logistics, warehousing, certification, and quality control processes for exported products were also addressed.

🟠Similar agreements were secured by Uzbek leather goods producers with EU partners, including organizations like CTIC, APIC, Confindustria Toscana Sud, Cámara de Comercio de Valencia, and companies such as Aquitex, CEPSA, Alidata, Mapril ION Exchange, VentilaQUA, Desotec, Jose Maria & filhos Tanned Group, and Incusa.

🟠Early results from the mission are promising: in the past two months, exports in the leather industry have surged across Italy, Bulgaria, Poland, Austria, and Germany, under recently signed agreements.
