U.S. envoy Tom Barrack told i24NEWS that Israel’s strikes on Syria’s Abu al-Duhur Air Base carried a “real risk” of triggering a direct military confrontation with Turkey and Syria.
Barrack said Turkish forces were not warned about the Israeli aircraft or their objective and could have scrambled fighters believing Turkey was under attack. “Yesterday’s events were serious and worrying,” he said.

The death toll of the Israeli strike targeting a police station in Gaza City has risen to nine, according to Palestinian media. Another 15 are reported wounded. The Israeli military says terror operatives were targeted in the strike. @KurdishFrontReports
A member of Hamas's political bureau, Bassem Naim, responds to the Israeli strike in Gaza City:
"Today's massacre at the police headquarters, in which several police officers were killed, carries one message: We, the Zionists, are above the law. We are allowed to run wild and commit crimes anywhere and anytime we wish, and we honor agreements only when they align with our plans.
This brazen message, written in fire, is not directed at us, but at the Peace Council and its leadership.
This situation cannot continue."

Faleh al-Fayyad, head of Iraq’s Iran-backed Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF):
The PMF does not have authority to decide on war and follows the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
Over 100 PMF headquarters were reportedly bombed during the war with Iran, with more than 100 PMF members killed and dozens wounded.
The PMF was targeted to pressure Iraqi resistance factions.
Work is ongoing to separate some PMF brigades from political and factional affiliations.
External pressure on the PMF will not be accepted.
Iraq needs a new security arrangement after the U.S. withdrawal, including stronger protection of its airspace and sovereignty.
A framework to regulate weapons is needed, while forcibly imposing disarmament should be avoided.
The departure of U.S. forces will be a day of celebration.

President Donald J. Trump has announced what he calls the "MOST CRUSHING ECONOMIC OPERATION EVER TAKEN AGAINST ANY COUNTRY," declaring a campaign of unprecedented economic warfare and isolation against Iran.
Trump said the United States will target not only Iran, but any country, financial institution, business, airport or government entity providing Iran with what he describes as a "lifeline." He specifically cited oil smuggling, financial transfers, currency exchanges, ship registries and front companies.
The announcement represents a significant shift in rhetoric from the administration's repeated public assertions over the past several months that negotiations with Iran were progressing well and a deal was close.
As recently as August 5, Trump said negotiations were "working out quite well," while on July 28 he described discussions with Iran as a "beautiful discussion" and said the door remained open to a deal.
Those statements came despite the June Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) ultimately collapsing, the 60 day negotiating window expiring without a broader agreement, and Iran and the United States remaining sharply divided over the Strait of Hormuz, sanctions and the U.S. military presence in the region.
Today's announcement therefore appears to mark another significant turn in the administration's carrot-and stick strategy toward Tehran: Trump is simultaneously declaring Iran to be on the brink of collapse while imposing substantially broader economic pressure intended to force a resolution.
Trump also reiterated that Iran will never be permitted to obtain a nuclear weapon.
