8 attacks in one week⦠13 killed in ISIS escalation against Damascus authorities
A member of the Damascus Interim Authority factions was killed today by direct fire from unknown gunmen in the city of Mayadin in the Deir ez-Zor countryside, amid a noticeable escalation of attacks in recent days.
According to field reports, the number of ISIS attacks since February 17 has risen to eight, resulting in 13 deaths among civilians and military personnel. The toll includes 10 soldiers from government factions, two ISIS members, and one civilian.
Deir ez-Zor witnessed five attacks, resulting in the deaths of two soldiers and injuries to another, in addition to one civilian death. Raqqa recorded three attacks.
Deir ez-Zor witnessed 5 operations that resulted in the killing of two members and the injury of another, in addition to the killing of a civilian, while Raqqa recorded 3 operations that led to the killing of 8 members of the Authority factions and two members of the organization.

The commander-in-chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, told PBS:
The Kurds want autonomy, but they have currently accepted expanded local administration because this is the limit the central government is willing to accept. They are not seeking independence at this stage, but rather self-governance for their regions and the preservation of their identity and civil and educational rights.
The late January agreement with Damascus is the best possible under the current circumstances, even if it is not the ideal deal for the Kurds. It was accepted to solidify the ceasefire, achieve stability, and move towards resolving differences through dialogue instead of fighting.

-An end to arbitrary arrests across Syria.
-Transparent legal procedures respecting human rights and the rule of law.
The Council welcomes the return of about 400 displaced families to Afrin, but stresses that returns must be safe, voluntary, and dignified, with property rights protected.
It calls for reopening internal roads and crossings, especially around Kobani and Hasakah, to improve humanitarian and economic conditions.
The SDC stresses that agreements must be implemented simultaneously and fairly by all parties, with regional and international support.
