The brothers Hassan Jihadallah Jaafar and Mohammad Jihadallah Jaafar, members of the Shiite community, were killed on the morning of Monday, September 14, 2026, after being targeted by an armed group while working on their agricultural land in the village of Al-Dabiyah, in the Al-Qusayr area of western rural Homs.

Racist attacks and insults against Kurdish students inside a school
Teacher Fawza Faisal, appointed by the Damascus authorities at Abdul Rahman al-Kawakibi School in Ayoun, assaulted a number of Kurdish students and directed racist insults and remarks against Kurds and their symbols.
A photo also showed the effects of the assault on the hands of several Kurdish students who were subjected to beating and verbal abuse inside the school.
This highlights the danger of the policies and practices imposed on Kurdish areas, amid the continued appointment of cadres carrying racist, extremist Islamist, and Ba’athist racist mentality toward Kurdish society.
The school is a place for education and protecting children, not a place for beating and humiliation or imposing racist rhetoric on Kurdish students.
The teacher has been dismissed from the Education Directorate.
