These are the 2 martyrs. Particularly striking that they belonged to the Syrian army’s 60th division - they were still attacked and killed by the Syrian tribes, proving that the integration deal is meaningless - that the hostility by Syrians is not directed…
An armed attack targeting a position belonging to the Qamishli Brigade in the village of Tawil Harb in the countryside of the city of Qamishli resulted in two martyrs and two wounded. This attack has once again raised widespread questions about who is behind the escalation in the region. In particular, the fact that the attack took place only hours after public threats issued by Khidr Abu Haytham, the so-called commander of the tribal forces in southern Hasakah, against the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) has drawn attention.
According to Helzwar Mitani, Military Media Director of the Eastern Region, an “outlaw group” attacked a position belonging to the brigade before being repelled by the fighters. Mitani stated that two fighters were martyred and two others were wounded, noting that the pursuit of the perpetrators continues and that the necessary measures are being taken.
The timing of the incident further increases the questions. The attack came only hours after a public post by Khidr Abu Haytham in which he said:
“By God Almighty, I long to fight the SDF more than anyone else. But as for the battle, by God Almighty, when its time comes we will not postpone it.”
Observers note that the issuance of such a direct threat, followed by an armed attack on a force that includes fighters from formations previously part of the SDF, makes it necessary for the security authorities to conduct a serious investigation to uncover the circumstances of the attack.
Why did the public threats go unaddressed?
The most pressing question here is not only who carried out the attack, but also why individuals who openly issue threats remain free without being held accountable.
The responsibility of the transitional government and the Ministry of Interior
The transitional government and the Ministry of Interior bear direct responsibility for uncovering the circumstances of the attack. This should not be limited to pursuing the perpetrators; they must also investigate the threats that preceded the attack and determine who encouraged the escalation.
This attack took place at an extremely sensitive time. While protests were taking place in Qamishli and Hasakah against the assaults that displaced people from Ras al-Ayn/Serêkaniyê faced during their attempts to return to their city, calls were rising for the protection of the returnees and for ensuring their safe, voluntary, and dignified return.
Thus, the question that imposes itself today is not only “Who opened fire on the Qamishli Brigade?” but also the following:
Who is trying to drag the region back into conflict? Who benefits from turning political and social tensions into armed confrontation?

The Eastern Kurdistan Defense Units (YRK), the armed wing of PJAK, published a statement and video showing the groups’ urban units, “Kurdistan Martyrs’ Revenge Teams” carrying out an operation in Sine on August 8, killing Salar Rangamiz, whom it accused of collaborating with Iranian security forces.
YRK said the operation followed an investigation into the deaths of four of its guerrillas near Mahabad and warned other alleged collaborators to end cooperation with Iranian forces and “return to the ranks of the people.”
The attack had previously been claimed by another group named ‘Xori Hiwa’. The newly released YRK statement and footage indicate that this claim appears to have been false.

A PJAK/YRK-affiliated source says footage of another attack will also be published soon:
The footage reportedly shows the killing of Ömer Dehgan from Mahabad, whom the source describes as a collaborator.
The source also addresses rival claims surrounding such attacks, accusing individuals using fabricated identities and online pages of attempting to take credit for actions carried out by others.
“Let action judge between truth and claims.”

A Two-Pronged Special Warfare Strategy Is Being Implemented!
Channels and accounts linked to MIT and HTS intelligence are disseminating massive amounts of disinformation. They are attempting to sow discord among the region's peoples by sharing old footage as if it were new.
Concurrently, covert cells (ISIS) are being mobilized in the rural areas of Qamishlo and Heseke under the guise of tribal affiliations.
