In usual fashion - the Syrian governmental media is celebrating the big economic deals announced between the USA (Chevron) and the Syrian Government.
It must be clear: these are Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which means that the USA/Chevron has reached an agreement with the STG that they will do that investment but they aren’t doing the investment now or in the near future.
These investments will manifest after the transitional phase.
Similar to the many economic deals that the Syrian Government has announced, these are mere MOUs.
What the Syrian Governmental Media does with these MOUs is selling major successes to their people.
Credibility building measures as well as pacifying the public which is very dissatisfied with the rising costs of goods and services in Syria

The meeting discussed the mechanisms for implementing the January 29 agreement, continuing the fight against ISIS, and ways to protect detention facilities holding ISIS families and fighters.
We also discussed protecting the particular status of Kurdish regions and safeguarding the rights of Kurds in Syria, as well as integrating military and security forces in all their aspects, including the Women’s Protection Forces.
The French Foreign Minister stressed the importance of fully implementing the agreement and reaffirmed France’s support for this phase.

Tensions between the tribes and the Syrian Government in Raqqah and Deirezzor are steadily rising.
1. Al Azbah/Ezbah oil refinery was set ablaze by tribal fighters who demand a % of the oil from the refinery which the STG refused.
2. 2 tribal families in Gharanji clashed with each other over land disputes (to my understanding) with the STG trying to intervene which ended with all 3 parties clashing with each other and the death of 1 woman alongside several wounded people.
3. Locals in Raqqah have started attack a convoy of trucks, assaulting the drivers and forcing the convoy to turn around.
Reason for this attack is that the trucks were from other regions of Syria which these residents did not allow/want*
