🇮🇷 Iran’s Hormozgan Sunni clergy voice strong support for Leader, Islamic Republic

Some 240 Sunni clergy from Hormozgan Province in southern Iran have expressed their strong, informed, and unwavering support for the Islamic Republic and Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

In a statement on Sunday, Sunni clergy from Hormozgan Province emphasized that the unity of the Islamic Ummah and adherence to religious leadership are crucial for the dignity and progress of the Iranian nation, adding that the martyrs’ sacrifices serve as a guiding light for the continuation of the Islamic Revolution.

The statement further stressed, “Undoubtedly, the enemies of Islam and Iran aim to undermine national solidarity through hybrid warfare and media conspiracies. However, the insightful and united Iranian nation will thwart these plots as before”.

The Sunni clergy reaffirmed their strong support for velayat-e faqih (the rule by the supreme religious jurisprudent), stressing the importance of protecting the achievements of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as strengthening unity and solidarity among people from all walks of life.

Recently, foreign-backed terrorists and trained mercenaries hijacked peaceful protests in Iran to advance the objectives of the enemy. They touched off riots, vandalized public property, and tried to incite discontent. One of their objectives was to create sectarian divide and ethnic divisions to further cause chaos in the country. However, Iranians from all walks of life, including religious and ethnic groups, expressed their solidarity with the Islamic establishment by holding pro-government rallies and condemning acts of terror and riots.

Al-Akhbar has learned that the reconstruction of several southern villages damaged by Israeli aggressions was initially expected to feature in discussions ahead of the visit by Qatari Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mohammed Al-Khulaifi, before being quietly dropped at the last moment.
