IMA Fellow Dr. Kimberly Biss Reveals What Happened to Miscarriage Rates in Her Medical Practice During COVID

FULL STATEMENT: (Washington, DC) – In a newly released video, Independent Medical Alliance Senior Fellow, Dr. Kimberly Biss, explains the observations and data on miscarriages that she saw in her practice during the COVID era. This comes as the release of Dr. Fauci’s text messages reveal that he and others had concerns about the mRNA shot causing failed pregnancies, yet publicly maintaining there was zero concern. 1/2

“I can tell you first hand, I’d never seen numbers like that in all my years of practice, which began in 1998. And it’s horrifying,” said Dr. Kimberly Biss, a respected obstetrician-gynecologist. “I don’t understand why so many in the mainstream press are refusing to acknowledge this, as if they’re rooting for the vaccine and against women.”

In the video, Dr. Biss estimated that some 60% of her patients had taken the COVID shot, and that miscarriage rates, which had averaged about 4% in 2020, doubled to 8% in 2021, and reached 15–16% in 2022.

Dr. Biss points out that there were ample warning signs including:
• Pfizer’s trial enrolled no pregnant women, but 144 participants became pregnant anyway and 17 of them miscarried, roughly double the 5% to 6% first-trimester baseline.
• Pfizer’s post-marketing report listed 270 pregnant patients and followed up on 32. Twenty-six of those lost their babies.
• The New England Journal of Medicine paper that became the reassurance everyone cited built its 12.6% rate on a group in which roughly 700 of 827 women were vaccinated too late in pregnancy to register a first-trimester loss at all.
• ACOG launched its campaign aimed at pregnant women in April 2021, and a FOIA request by attorney Maggie Thorp later established that it received $11 million routed through a trust funded with HHS money.

“It’s absolutely criminal that our medical system would prescribe a brand new, untested and unproven drug to pregnant women, arguably the most vulnerable population in medicine,” continued Dr. Biss. “We never gave anything brand new out of the gate to our pregnant patients. Before Covid, that would have been considered malpractice.”

HHS Investigation Exposes Hospitals Concealing Transgender Procedures and Profits Behind Vague Billing Codes

New report finds tens of millions of dollars in puberty-blocker claims coded as unrelated or unspecified endocrine disorders; health systems quietly building pipelines of lifelong patients while shielding the nature of the interventions

FULL STATEMENT: WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Independent Medical Alliance (IMA), the nation’s largest coalition of independent doctors and healthcare professionals, today highlighted hospital billing practices detailed in the HHS investigation Wolves in White Coats: How Doctors and Hospitals Pushed and Profited from the Fraud of Gender Medicine. The report shows that profitable pediatric gender interventions were routinely billed under vague, unrecognizable codes such as E34.9—“Endocrine Disorder, Unspecified.” 1/2

“Why were hospitals hiding what they were doing to children behind billing codes that parents, taxpayers and insurers would never recognize as transgender medicine?” asked IMA President and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Joseph Varon. “If medical institutions were disguising these procedures while creating a pipeline of young patients requiring years of continued treatment, the American people deserve to know exactly what happened and who profited.”

The HHS report found that more than 225 hospitals and health systems established pediatric gender programs nationwide and identified tens of millions of dollars in insurance claims for puberty blockers that were submitted under obscure or potentially misleading diagnostic codes.

According to HHS:
• Approximately $50 million in insurance claims for puberty blockers between 2015 and 2025 were billed under E34.9.
• Nearly $11 million in claims for children ages 13–17 were billed under E30.1, a code associated with precocious puberty.
• More than 225 hospitals and health systems established pediatric gender programs across the United States.

“The lack of transparency is stunning,” Varon continued. “The public has every right to question what large healthcare systems are telling them—from the COVID revelations to the quiet financial incentives surrounding these procedures on children.”

The findings have already prompted federal action. Vice President JD Vance, Chairman of the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, and HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. have referred hospitals and clinics identified in the report to the Department of Justice and the HHS Office of Inspector General for review of potential violations of federal law.

The report also examines the financial incentives surrounding pediatric gender medicine, describing a system in which vulnerable children could become what the report calls “captive patients” requiring potentially lifelong medical interventions.

“HHS is documenting an industry involving hundreds of medical institutions, large financial incentives, and billing practices serious enough to trigger federal investigation. There must be full transparency and accountability,” Varon concluded. 2/2

FULL STATEMENT: WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Independent Medical Alliance (IMA), the nation’s largest coalition of independent doctors and healthcare professionals, today noted that Danish researcher Poul Thorsen is expected to plead guilty on September 1 to federal charges of wire fraud and money laundering.

“Thorsen’s conduct has created questions about whether the medical community can trust his research,” said IMA President and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Joseph Varon. “Financial integrity and scientific integrity are connected. When someone is willing to falsify documents to take public funds, the public has every right to demand full accountability.”

Thorsen co-authored several highly cited studies in the early 2000s, including a large 2002 paper in the New England Journal of Medicine that argued no link exists between the MMR vaccine and autism. Those papers influenced vaccine policy for more than two decades.

According to federal prosecutors, while Thorsen was responsible for administering research funded by more than $11 million in CDC grants to Danish government agencies, he submitted more than a dozen fraudulent invoices bearing the forged signature of a CDC laboratory official. The invoices falsely claimed that a CDC laboratory had performed work and was owed grant money. Aarhus University transferred hundreds of thousands of dollars to accounts it believed belonged to the CDC but which prosecutors allege were actually controlled by Thorsen. Federal authorities allege that Thorsen ultimately diverted more than $1 million in CDC grant funds for his personal use.

Thorsen was extradited to the United States this year, and prosecutors say he is expected to enter a guilty plea at the September 1 hearing in Atlanta.

“Americans are asked to trust the science,” Varon said. “That trust requires open books, clear disclosure of conflicts, and real consequences when researchers cross the line.”

IMA is calling on federal agencies to now review the methods and findings of every research program connected to Thorsen. 2/2
