The Truth and the Lie
The Lie said to the Truth, "Let's take a bath together, the well water is very nice. The Truth, still suspicious, tested the water and found out it really was nice. So they got naked and bathed. But suddenly, the Lie leapt out of the water and fled, wearing the clothes of the Truth.
The Truth, furious, climbed out of the well to get her clothes back. But the World, upon seeing the naked Truth, looked away, with anger and contempt. Poor Truth returned to the well and disappeared forever, hiding her shame. Since then, the Lie runs around the world, dressed as the Truth, and society is very happy...
Because the world has no desire to know the naked Truth.

I have a small handful of demos left to share with you all. After the last one is posted, I will be putting the Hiraeth project on the shelf for awhile if not for good. I’ll explain more soon. 🤍

This is the last demo I’ll be posting.
Being a full time mom means that I won’t have time to create music for a good long while, and when I’m ready for that, it will be the start of a new project with a new name and I’m not sure what it will sound like or what that name will be.
“Hiraeth” has been an incredible outlet for me over the years and I’m so grateful for the support I’ve gotten and the connections I’ve made with people in the process. But the truth is that there is a sense of homelessness that comes with the meaning of the word “Hiraeth” that I no longer wish to express or embody.
After everything that’s happened, what’s most important to me now is to lay down a solid foundation for my daughter so that she has everything she needs in order to grow into the amazing person I know she already is.
With that said, I will leave up my channels, but this will be the last post I make. Thank you all for listening to my music and showing me support. It means more than I can say.
Following this demo, I’ll drop one last unreleased song from the album “Woven” which I feel will be appropriate for this end of an era.

Hiraeth
This rough demo was recorded live with a tascam the first time I met Jeff in person. We were both fans of Elliott Smith so we decided to cover “The Biggest Lie” since Jeff already knew how to play it on guitar. After he passed, I have listened to this countless times. It brings smiles and tears to me every time.

Years ago I mentioned that if I wrote music again it would be under a new project name. That time has arrived. ✨

Thank you all for the amazing support I've gotten so far for this new project!
This EP is deeply personal and was my way of processing the rollercoaster of loss, grief, and the gift of motherhood that I experienced during my 3 year hiatus from songwriting. I hope it finds the people who can connect to it. 🤍

I've written 4 songs for my next FULL length album so far that I'm really excited to share with you all!
The over arching theme for this next album is shaping up to be a spiritual expression based on my heritage and my ancestors. The protests in Belfast lit a fire... and I look forward to carrying that torch with my music, hopefully inspiring others to play their part in all of this. 🤍

Don't Let the River Run Dry (Demo)
Under the Dogwood
This is a raw little demo of a new song for my friends here on Telegram.
I have a vision for how I want to develop this one and really look forward to working on the album version whenever time will allow.

I commented on the post above and would like to share some thoughts on that here.
"What makes music White?" is a complex question to articulate a short answer for.
I feel like art in general is an expression of the time it was created in. There is also an expression of the soul of the individual and the unique perspective of that person, as well as the ancestral folk soul of the people that individual belongs to.
Music has played a big role in the living tradition of a people through orating the stories over generations. The songs evolved with the people. I think there will always be the imprint of blood and ancestral memory in the art we create.
White people have a talent for creating beautiful melodies, and complex patterns in music that start and end in a way that feels whole or complete.
Rap is definitely more primitive in its structure and while that could largely be due to lower IQ, I think it's deeper than that. It's also a reflection of their ancestral journey and spiritual development as a people just as ours is for us.
