As the MAU of Telegram bots grows, the number of username upgrades is increasing as well.

Over nearly three years, 1,513 usernames (latest upgrade happened while i was writing this post) have been upgraded — 375 of them in 2026.

Any NFT username can be upgraded for use in a Telegram bot. This option allows you to use a short username in a bot without the “-bot” suffix. The upgrade costs 1000 TON.

According to Reuters, Chen Zhi, a suspected key member of a Chinese group involved in online fraud and money laundering, was detained in Cambodia.

According to the @feds, Chen Zhi is a key figure linked to a Chinese underground market network that is behind the @danbao account on Telegram.

😳 The agency reports that the group laundered at least $4 billion in illicit proceeds between 2021 and 2025.
