In one incident, an Israeli drone sparked a blaze with flares outside Khian, and when firefighters deployed to fight it, an armed drone struck close by and forced them to retreat.

Firefighting crews are required to coordinate their movements with the Lebanese Army, which itself passes the message to a "deconfliction group" including the IDF. They were given permission to do their work at two affected spots, while forced to stand by as other fires spread.
