🇺🇸- The "Bear Aces" of Airborne Command and Control Squadron (VAW) 124 and Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 213 (AKA. "Blacklions") returned to their respective home stations today, following an eleven month deployment as part of the Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group.

➡️ The "Bear Aces" returned to Naval Station Norfolk, while the "Blacklions" arrived back at Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach, having both operated across US 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th Fleets.

— U.S. Marine Corps Aviation will be retiring its fleet of 138 F/A-18 "Hornet" fighter jets by August 2030, replacing them with 420 F-35B and F-35C "Lightning II" stealth fighter jets.

This upgrade will make the USMC Aviation's fighter jet fleet more survivable in heavily contested airspaces, allow takeoffs from America-class & Wasp-class ships as well as shorter/austere runways with the F-35B variant, and allow fighter jet integration with USMC ground and naval forces.

🇺🇸- The Commander of Middle Euphrates Operations within the Popular Mobilization Forces Commission, Major General Ali Al-Hamdani, stated in an official release received by the INA that "a military operation named 'Imposing Sovereignty' commenced today in the deserts of Najaf and Karbala across four axes, aiming to secure the strategic highway connecting Karbala and the Nukhaib region."

➡️ Al-Hamdani explained that "the operational axes comprise the Middle Euphrates Operations Command, the Karbala Operations Command, and the Anbar Operations Command within the PMF Commission, alongside the PMF's 2nd Brigade."

➡️ He added that "the participating forces are executing clearing and search operations up to a depth of 70 kilometers, guided by precise military blueprints and conducted with a high level of professionalism."
