The Central Bank of Japan (BOJ) kept rate unchanged at the relatively low level of 0.75% even as inflation is running hot. Japan has been releasing oil from its strategic reserve to cushion its economy from the Hormuz disruption.

To compound on the Yen troubles, Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi is pushing for bigger deficit and lower cost of borrowing to pursue an expensive rearm even as she cuts taxes.
