- A Field Commander in the Saraya AlQuds (PIJ) Brigades has announced that the group had carried out a complex and qualitative operation against an IDF Personnel Carrier in "Abasan AlKabira" of eastern Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, on the 8th of July, with the objective of capturing personnel.

The Units detonated a "Barq" / "Sadmiyya" EFP, destroying the APC completely, resulting in its complete ignition.

The Units proceeded to approach the destroyed vehicle, and finished off some its crew at point-blank range. They then drag a crew member out of the vehicle, however, nearby IDF vehicles intervened and engaged the site using artillery fire and machine gun fire, killing the kidnappee IDF soldier, and a number of the Saraya AlQuds (PIJ) Brigades soldiers.

He also states that an operation of this kind is not it's first, and numerous attempts similar were made.
