A bridge collapsed onto a moving passenger train traveling from Klimovo to Moscow near the village of Vygonichi in Russia’s Bryansk region. At the time of the incident, several heavy trucks were crossing the bridge; they plunged onto the train below, causing extensive damage.

The disaster has resulted in at least four fatalities and more than 40 injuries.

While the cause of the collapse is still under investigation, unconfirmed reports suggest it may have been an act of sabotage. Media sources allege that four explosive devices were planted—two on the bridge supports and two on the railway tracks—which reportedly detonated just as the train was passing beneath the structure.
