➡️ Al-Shabaab has captured 3 bridges (Awdhegle, Sabid and now Bariire) across the "Webi Shabelle" river in the past 5 days, these crossings are extremely important for al-Shabaab if the group were to try an assault on the capital, as they would need to move a massive number of fighters and vehicles across the river.

➡️ Some civilians can be seen welcoming the militants after they came in control of Bariire.
