✏️These alarm clocks use a 12-hour format, meaning the perpetrator couldn't properly set them for 9:00 AM. They likely set the alarms for 9:00, but because of the AM/PM confusion, the devices went off at 9:00 PM instead of the intended 9:00 AM.

Tldr 24 hours system clocks are more optimal for such cases.
