"Will not end without the defeat of Hamas and release all the hostages"? That is the exact same objective of the war that went on in the 15 month long campaign, that did not succeed.
The IDF switched it's battle tactics within this war dozens of times, and no strategy has worked to seriously damage the ranks of the AlQassam Brigades.
