The Port of Eilat has faced significant operational challenges due to a naval blockade imposed by Yemenโs Houthi movement since November 2023. This blockade has led to a substantial decline in port activities, with reports indicating an 85% drop in operations and the port declaring bankruptcy in July 2024.
Yemeni sources claim that Turkey has been sending ships from its ports across the Mediterranean Sea, passing through the Suez Canal, and heading towards the port of Eilat.
Satellite ship-tracking sites reportedly show the arrival of the vessel โMY DREAMโ at the port of Eilat. The ship is said to have loaded its cargo in Turkish ports, traversed the Mediterranean Sea and the Suez Canal, and subsequently unloaded its cargo at Eilat.
