GTA 5 running at 1440p 60FPS with ray tracing.

But here’s the real shift:

Parts of this work are now entering Linux itself.

• PS5 GPU support showing up in Mesa
• Patches being added to AMDGPU drivers
• No longer just a one-off hack

This shows:

• Console hardware = basically PC hardware
• Limitations are software, not power
• Future consoles might just be locked PCs

Steam Spring Sale advice

Jokes aside: the team believed that Unity's beta features will be improved and finalized in a reasonable time frame. Instead, many of them were discontinued or stayed unfinished. So they've had to make their own solutions (times longer than they planned).

The game with massive maps and tens of thousands of objects requires high-end solutions.

Kojima and PlayStation kinda won: despite the increased price across the globe, Death Stranding 2 started at 50K CCU on Steam. And the third place among top sellers. That's less than DA Veilguard and AC Shadows, both were considered commercial failures.

Reviews are 93% positive so far but aren't detailed in most cases. There may be some issues on Radeon graphics cards causing crashes a few hours into the game ("Error Device Hung"). And Linux is not supported well.

Fun fact: the game supports Pico Upscale technology, which is a port of PSSR made for PC. We may see some reviews of this, but that's not the only extra upscaling on PC, for example, the Qualcomm SGSR one is also present in some games and Lossless Scaling App. But it's unexpected to see a SONY tech on PC.

By the way, Crimson Desert is on the first spot among top sellers and will definitely outperform the competitor.

Kingsglaive is very odd to me: I adore the animated version and never truly liked FF XV as the game. The stiff combat system, the narrative shifting between comical and dramatical notes.

But if you haven't watched the movie, I highly recommend you to try it out.

Fun fact: Gabriel Moszkowski, who managed the deal between CDPR and Keanu Reeves, used to be a casting manager of the movie.

And Crimson Desert just launched well. A few negative reviews are:

- Can't rebind WASD keys
- Can't lock FPS
- Has narrative cutscenes but the guy wanted it to be 100% combat and he hates dialogues

And the admin plays delisted Legend of Korra instead. The game was updated with the achievements for some reason (when it was already delisted).

UPD: apparently there were achievements since the release but Steam improved their support for delisted games. So I'll max it out.

And a quick warning for anyone willing to try:

- The performance may be bad (without a clear reason), but it's rare and on average the performance is praised. My assumption — you need a fast drive and players who complain about lag spikes are playing on HDDs.

- Controls are messed up, like both keyboard and gamepad users are mad. And you can't change most of it, the layout settings are extremely limited. The experience the studio has with MMOs isn't helping them to build a solo game that is comfortable to control.

- Intel GPUs are not supported, you literally can't play the game on ARC GPUs.

Just found out that Korra is so out of stock that a few remaining copies you can buy are Steam gifts for €300+ which is slightly insane.

You will have to add a shady reseller to you friends, make a deal visible to Steam support, and pray he will not revoke it. And you pay €300-600 for a very small beat-em-up.

I bought it for like $9 or something! And it was absolutely worth the price (the experience is memorable, every section brings new challenges, and you can replay a lot of it). But €20 is probably the highest it should be even as delisted item.

The last one, I promise: there are several types of cats in Crimson Desert, including some chonky ones 🥰

Usually games offer you one model and several colours, but hey, the industry improves!
