🇨🇴 Eruption of Puracé and Quiriquinga Volcanoes in Colombia
🌋 On January 19, 2024, gas and ash emissions were recorded at the Puracé and Quiriquinga volcanoes, located in the Puracé National Natural Park, Cauca Department, Colombia.
Ashfall was reported in Popayán, Coconuco, and Timbío. Additionally, an increase in sulfur dioxide (SO²) emissions was observed.
The Colombian Geological Service has maintained a yellow alert level, indicating volcanic activity and behavioral changes. Monitoring of the situation is ongoing.
