🇮🇹Magnitude 4.2 earthquake in the Basilicata region

‼️ On March 18, 2025, at 10:01 AM local time (Europe/Rome, GMT +1), a magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck the Basilicata region of Italy. The tremor was felt in the cities of Potenza and Matera, causing panic among residents—many rushed outside. The epicenter was located 6 km from the town of Vaglio, with a shallow depth of only 14.3 km (9 miles), making it widely felt near the epicenter.

⚠️ As a precaution, schools in Potenza were closed, and train services between Tito and Potenza were temporarily suspended. Civil Protection authorities are assessing potential damages.
