🌧 North Queensland is experiencing heavy rainfall, likely to cause "dangerous to life-threatening" flooding across a 750-kilometre stretch from Cairns to Mackay. The Townsville area has been particularly affected, with streets and residential areas submerged.

🆘 Authorities have ordered residents in six suburbs of Townsville to prepare for evacuation. On Saturday, emergency services doorknocked around 4,000 homes, warning people about the flood threat. Queensland Premier David Crisafulli urged residents of low-lying areas to be ready to evacuate and leave immediately if directed.
