❄️ On February 19, 2025, snow fell in the Greater Nafud Desert in northern Saudi Arabia. The rare event was due to unusual weather conditions caused by cyclonic vortices that brought cold air and precipitation to the region. Such snowfalls in the desert regions of Saudi Arabia are extremely rare, although the country's mountains sometimes experience sub-zero temperatures and snow in winter.
