🇬🇪 On Tuesday, June 25, a tornado hit the Alaverdi Monastery in the Kakheti region, Georgia. The disaster damaged the main dome of the Alaverdi temple, which was completely covered with tin; the wind also knocked down the cross. The roofs of the monastic and monastery residences, cells, and antiquities storage were damaged.

Outside the temple, iron railings, lighting poles, and power lines were torn out.

On the road near the Alaverdi temple, the tornado overturned a car with two people inside. They sustained injuries and were taken to the Telavi specialized hospital.
