Wildfires are raging across several regions of Central Russia, severely affecting the Penza and Tambov areas. In the Penza region, particularly in the Bekovsky and Shemysheysky districts, an extreme fire hazard (class 5) is expected to persist from October 2 to 7, 2024. Local authorities and fire services are battling the flames that are spreading rapidly through the forests.

The neighboring Tambov region faces a similarly dire situation. Several fires in two villages have destroyed dozens of homes. Preliminary reports suggest the cause was careless handling of fire. Strong winds are exacerbating the crisis, enabling the fire to spread quickly from one structure to another.

Residents of the affected regions are strongly advised to take all necessary precautions and be prepared for potential evacuations.
