🌧 On February 11–12, 2025, the Karpasia Peninsula in Cyprus experienced extreme weather conditions. A severe hailstorm resulted in a thick layer of ice covering roads and agricultural fields.

In the villages of Gialousa, Agios Andronikos, Agia Triada, and Melanagra, the hail and heavy rains caused significant damage to homes, buildings, and farms. The intense rainfall led to road closures, water intrusion into several houses, and the collapse of some garages.

‼️According to meteorological services, the region experienced low temperatures that contributed to the formation of hail. On February 11, the average temperature was approximately 10.3°C (50.5°F), and on February 12, it was around 10.8°C (51.4°F).
