🇾🇹Here’s the translation with the flag emoji and hashtag added:

‼️т"It is believed that several thousand people may have died as a result of the cyclone on the Mayotte archipelago 🇾🇹.

This was stated by the prefect of the French region, François-Xavier Bévill, to the Mayotte la Première television channel. Experts are calling Cyclone 'Shido,' which hit the archipelago in the Indian Ocean on December 15, the strongest in the region since 1934. The recorded wind speed exceeded 200 km/h. Schools, medical facilities, and government buildings have been damaged.

As the prefect noted, it is difficult to determine the exact number of fatalities, as a significant number of refugees without documents reside on Mayotte. They are believed to have been most affected by the storm, as they often live in makeshift shelters.

French Interior Minister Bruno Retayo will travel to Mayotte with military personnel and firefighters to strengthen the ongoing rescue operation.

French authorities have responded to the increasing cases of looting that began after the storm. According to Retayo, about 1,600 gendarmes and police officers are currently working on Mayotte. Social tensions are being exacerbated by a water shortage caused by the severe drought in 2023, the worst in decades. #Mayotte #CycloneShido"
