🇷🇺| 🌋 After the strong earthquake on August 18, 2024, in Kamchatka, Russia, the region experienced a powerful eruption of the Shiveluch volcano, accompanied by volcanic lightning. According to the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, ash plumes have been observed rising to 8 kilometers, and lava extrusion is ongoing.

‼️ Seismologists are now warning of a potential earthquake with a magnitude between 6 and 9 on the Kamchatka Peninsula within the next 24 hours. 😱

🆘 "The recent earthquake may be a foreshock to either a similar or more powerful event in the area. We feel it is important to inform the public about the heightened risk of a seismic event that could generate tremors of significant intensity," the report states.

🇷🇺|🌋 Gray Snow, Red Code: Kamchatka Battles the Aftermath of Shiveluch Volcano Eruption

🔥 The largest volcano on the Kamchatka Peninsula, Shiveluch, became active yesterday. On the night of November 7-8, it erupted, sending a giant ash column to a height of 10-11 km. The ash plume drifted 22 km to the east-northeast of the volcano, and now this cloud is settling in the surrounding villages.

⚡️ The event was accompanied by impressive volcanic lightning.

🆘 Residents are advised not to open windows, wear masks, and, if possible, avoid going outside, as breathing is difficult. The snow has turned a dirty gray, and visibility has significantly decreased. Due to this, a red aviation safety code has been issued, and planes are temporarily grounded.

‼️ According to geophysicists, Shiveluch's eruption was unusual. Seismic stations typically detect volcanic activity long before an eruption, but this time, events unfolded too rapidly. Experts do not rule out the possibility of further eruptions.
