🇫🇷 On Friday, August 16, at around 5:00 p.m. local time, a Fouga Magister jet trainer aircraft crashed into the sea during an airshow off the coast of Var in southern France.

🎥 The tragic accident, which occurred during a performance by the French patrol near Lavandou, was caught on video by several spectators and quickly spread across social media. The footage shows the plane losing stability during a maneuver and plunging sharply towards the sea. Despite attempts to regain control, the aircraft tipped on its side, failed to stabilize, and crashed into the water, leaving onlookers in shock.

🛩 The Fouga Magister — a two-seater model used for training from 1964 to 1980 — did not have an ejection system for the pilot, complicating the situation. Experienced aviator Didier Berger, a former fighter pilot and now instructor, was the only person on board. His body was discovered two hours after the crash.
