Here’s what happens when you actually step away for a while…
• All those things happening in the world? Still there when you come back.
• You don’t realise how often you reach for your phone… until you stop.
• Focusing on you instead of endless updates lets your nervous system relax and unwind.
• Taking care of yourself isn’t selfish — it’s, well, self-care.
• A personal system defrag — you can also show up better for everyone around you.
• You’ll tune back in feeling refreshed — like life is a good friend, not a to-do list.
If you’ve taken a break before, share what changed for you..

The Storm That Closed the Castle
Inner knowing, inherited narratives, and the lives we build
❤7
Ignore perfection. Perfection is impossible because we can always be a little more perfect. "You should be doing X; you should not be doing Y." says that little self-punishing voice in our heads which is just the mind measuring you against inherited narratives. And yes, perfection is literally impossible, because there’s always one more tweak, one more “could be better”. But you can follow your inner knowing. Not the mind. The heart. And celebrate living your truth.

Feed Light, Not Darkness 🌿
by Alan Cohen
I am hearing more and more questions about how to deal with troublesome events around the world.
I recall a poignant Star Trek television episode, “Day of the Dove.” In this story, an evil entity infiltrates the Starship Enterprise and spurs the crew to engage in acts of hatred and violence. It takes over their minds and incites innocent people to engage in extreme cruelty. The entity’s malevolent influence keeps growing until it seems that the dark force is about to gain victory. Then the ship’s commanders realize that the entity is feeding on fear and intense negative emotions, to incite endless fighting. As an antidote, the leaders quit battling the entity and instead cultivate inner peace and emotional calm. When the invader finds no more turbulent emotions to feed on, it withdraws, and well-being is restored.
People who perpetrate evil are in great pain. They are disconnected from their Source. If you get fearful, upset, and angry, then you, too, are disconnected from your Source.
If you wish to help disperse evil in the world, withdraw attention from perpetration, and place it instead on solution. In the Native American Onondaga Tribe, Oren Lyon was designated Faithkeeper. His job was to remain peaceful no matter what was going on in the outer world. If the rest of the tribe was troubled by warfare, bad weather, or food shortage, he was the one person who had to retain connection to well-being, which benefited the entire tribe.
Each of us has an inner Faithkeeper.
At the conclusion of Day of the Dove, Captain Kirk joins with Klingon Commander Kang to issue this imperative to the evil entity that has turned the Starship into a battleground:
“Get off my ship! You’re a dead duck here. You’re powerless. We know about you, and we don’t want to play. Maybe . . there are others like you around. Maybe you’ve caused a lot of suffering, a lot of history, but that’s all over. We’ll be on guard now. We’ll be ready for you, so ship out! Come on, haul it!”
I find it fascinating that Day of the Dove was aired at the height of the Vietnam conflict.

Building from peace, Not Pressure 🌿
by Robito Chatwin
Visualising your castle — what it is you wish to create — and then building it. Step by step.
The great sages of our time and modern science agree: if we want peace, joy, and clarity, our focus must return to here. Now.
Presence, and the peace and calm it brings, is not some esoteric dream. It’s neuroplasticity.
It’s reminding your nervous system that safety exists in this moment.
Sages and scientists further agree: planning is not the problem. Vision is not the problem. Action is not the problem.
The problem is frantic attachment.
Our mind can race out of control. When we move toward a goal from the heart, the nervous system is able to relax and soften. The mind becomes a tool, not a tyrant.
When I was in Indonesia, I learned an expression: “pelan-pelan”.
It means relax. Take it easy. Go gently. Go with the flow.
Yet interestingly in English it sounds like “plan plan”.
That’s the balance.
Relax into now.
And move toward your vision.
The big picture — what your heart truly wants to build — can only be accessed from within. Your inner authority is not frantic. It is calm.
The mind, with everything it has learned, is a powerful tool.
But being is the foundation.
And from being, you build.
So my invitation for simple reflection today
is about your current castle:
Are you building from peace —
or from pressure?

Just Keep Going 🌿
by Alan Cohen
One of the questions I hear most often in coaching and seminars goes something like this: “The life I have been living does not stimulate me any more. I sense that I have outgrown my relationships, or job, or lifestyle. I feel bored, and stuck. I know there must be more for me, but I don’t know how to reach or manifest it. I am in a kind of void, lost in space.”
Imagine that you are at a party in one room of a large house. You have been in this room for a while, and the people and conversations that once stimulated now feel stale. You step outside the room into the hallway, where you hear voices from another room down the hall. Unlike the room you just left, these conversations are stimulating, and you feel drawn to them. But the room is a distance away and it will take you some time to get there. What can you do in this kind of limbo position?
1. Tap into faith. Trust that your discomfort is temporary; it has, in fact, motivated you to reach for more.
2. Focus on the attributes of the room you are headed toward, and live them. Embody the traits that match what you wish to draw unto you.
3. Just keep going. Don’t stop or turn back because the old and familiar seems safer. Take baby steps if they feel easier. When you gain momentum through conscious, chosen movement, you will hasten your journey.
Perhaps you have some old relationships you have outgrown, and you feel guilty about not cultivating them anymore. Remember that there is no private good. If something is truly good for you, it will be truly good for others. Maybe your old acquaintances will find people who match their interests more than you do.
One hot summer day Dee and I went to a restaurant where we were seated beneath an air conditioning duct. After a while, we felt pretty cold. We wanted to ask the waiter to reseat us, but we had already been served our appetizer and we felt guilty to bug him. But we asked anyway, and the waiter kindly complied.
A few minutes later an elderly couple was seated at the table we vacated. As soon as they sat down, the man breathed a deep sigh of relief and said, “air conditioning—just what I needed.”
There is a right place for each of us. To claim it, we must live authentically, in harmony with our values and intentions. There is a new room down that hall that we would all like to enter. And so we will.

🚨 Telegram Scam Alert: Stay Safe 🚨
If you receive an SMS sent from Telegram saying:
“Your Telegram account has been flagged for violations and will soon be disabled. Please complete a security check within 24 hours at https://ycXXs.com”
⚠️ This is spoofing — scammers can fake the sender name to appear as “Telegram".
🔍 How to spot scam fear tactics:
⏳ Urgency: “within 24 hours” pressures you to act fast.
🚫 Threat: Claims your account will be disabled.
👤 Generic warning: no personal details — sent to many so some will react.
🔗 Suspicious: Not a legitimate official Telegram domain.
🛡 What to do:
Don’t click the link. Delete the message.
If you interacted change your data, eg. password, to secure your account.
There are no mistakes — what matters is simply staying safer next time.
💡 A good habit:
Pause before reacting. Check online. If you can't find any info in an online search, paste the message in ChatGPT and ask if it's spam.
You can also use AI without fear — for what it's meant for — a tool.
If something feels off, it probably is. 🌿

Inner Stability in Uncertain Times 🌿
by Robito Chatwin
Recently I’ve been hearing a familiar set of phrases:
“The global system is collapsing.”
“A great awakening is happening.”
Whenever I hear this, I’m reminded of many moments in history that help put things in perspective.
The Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962 brought the world to the brink of nuclear war. The oil crises of the 1970s shook global economies.
The financial crash of 2008 seemed as though the entire economic system might unravel. And in 2020, the world suddenly shut down.
In each of these moments, many genuinely felt they were witnessing the end of the existing world order — and each moment also sparked calls for something new.
Nuclear anxiety, the Vietnam War, and distrust in governments helped fuel the counterculture movements of the 1960s. The global Occupy movement called for a fairer economic system. And 2020 sparked a global movement centred around freedom, autonomy, and choice.
Written in 1919 over 100 years ago, following the upheaval of the Russian Revolution and the devastation of the First World War, Irish poet William Butler Yeats wrote his famous poem The Second Coming.
The Second Coming traditionally refers to the return of Christ — what some today might call a rise in higher or awakened consciousness.
Yeats’ poem instead imagines the arrival of a darker new era, symbolised by the famous line describing “a rough beast… slouching towards Bethlehem” — a vision that, in hindsight, eerily echoed the turbulent period that led into the Second World War.
Yeats believed that history moves in cycles — periods of stability, upheaval, adaptation, and rebuilding.
Which brings us to a quiet but important reflection.
It doesn’t mean the storms of history are insignificant.
But it reminds us that while the world will always weather the cycles of great storms, and events around us may feel unstable, there is a centre of stability that can always hold.
The one inside us.
Instead of reacting to every wave of news or uncertainty, we begin to sense a more empowering direction.
The quality of our own lived experience depends far more on the state of our inner world than on the headlines of the day.
Even in the most extreme circumstances, human beings have shown an extraordinary capacity to hold strength, authenticity, and clarity within.
Viktor Frankl, who survived Auschwitz, famously observed that while everything can be taken, one thing always remains — the freedom to choose how one responds.
It is possible to stand, move, act and react from calm, presence, strength, and deep inner clarity.
So my invitation for simple reflection today:
When the outside world feels uncertain…
Where does your attention go first?
Into worry about what might happen next?
Or into the quiet yet strong centre of your own castle?
Inner authority can only come from within, not from external events, narratives, crises, or social pressure. Life becomes meaningful and joyful when we live from internal stability and direction.

Why Claude AI is Interesting 🌿
by Robito Chatwin
Some people see AI as the enemy. There is always new technology that causes push back. For me, AI is just a tool:
a) like the printing press, calculator, ATM cash machines, the SatNav, and the internet, these changed our jobs, our skillsets, and our thinking, but they are not inherently evil.
b) like email - when we discovered all our emails are scanned by providers - or laptops and mobile phones - that require us to accept data collection - we all use them now.
BUT inner authority comes when we use these tools consciously.
Enter Claude AI for discussion:
Claude AI is an AI model (like ChatGPT) created by Anthropic.
Anthropic received a letter from the US Department of War confirming that "we have been designated as a supply chain risk to America’s national security."
It applies to the use of Claude as a direct part of contracts with the Department of War.
Following the Secretary of War announcing a deal between the Pentagon and OpenAI, Anthropic states:
"We do not believe, and have never believed, that it is the role of Anthropic or any private company to be involved in operational decision-making—that is the role of the military.
We have tried in good faith to reach an agreement with the Department of War, making clear that we support all lawful uses of AI for national security aside from two exceptions..
fully autonomous weapons and mass domestic surveillance."
Food for thought and debate:
First, it suggests the US military is relying a lot on private companies for AI technology rather than their own internal systems.
Second, it reminds us that the integrity of a company can be supported by us (or not), eg. using companies that offer de-googled phones and encrypted email.
Third, it highlights the question: what are we using AI for? (tip: we can ask AI to give us an interpretation of our dreams which is very useful for personal development).
The military is using it to strategise "fully autonomous weapons and mass domestic surveillance."
BUT if the military can strategise total world domination, AI can also be used to strategise total world liberation.
Interesting times. Interesting debate. The problem with AI is not AI. The technology is here. How we consciously choose to use it (or not) matters.

Walking the Path of Trust 🌿
by Robito Chatwin
I’m sure you have experienced moments like this too:
A job ending.
A relationship breaking up.
A sudden, unexpected shift in life that feels like the castle you’re building is falling apart.
Disaster. And yet when we look back with hindsight:
It was not the end.
It was a transition into something better.
But the old had to make room for the new.
In my previous newsletters, I’ve shared about:
Listening to your inner knowing
Building from calm, not pressure
Staying centred when the world feels uncertain
But this part is about something deeper.
Trust.

Blood Not Required 🌿
From Self-Sacrifice to Self-Empowerment
by Alan Cohen
My friend Lucy became tired, irritable, and ill. She was dragging herself through her workdays and family activities until she displayed classic signs of burnout.
Lucy went to see her spiritual advisor, who knew her history. He told her, “You are suffering from self-sacrifice.”
“Refusing to say ‘no’ has worn you down considerably,” the advisor told her. “Your major life lesson now is to recognize that your greatest contribution to the world is not the acts you do, but the sense of well-being you maintain. When you feel alive, joyful, and empowered, you help people far more than when you burden yourself with guilt-born obligations.”
Hearing Lucy’s story, I realized that I have often taken on tasks and meetings because I wanted to help people, but which caused me undue stress.
I have had to practice creating a healthy balance between service to community and wise self-care. A Course in Miracles tells us, “Health is the result of relinquishing all attempts to use the body lovelessly.”
Take a moment now to consider how much of a role self-sacrifice has played in your life.
Now consider who you are when you take good care of yourself. You eat well, sleep well, enjoy soul-nurturing activities with people you love, get into nature, and your life represents joyful self-expression.
Helping one another makes the world more like heaven. But not if it makes your life more like hell. Your strongest contribution is the energy you are exuding.
You can be doing all the right things, but if you are feeling self-sacrificial, you are sapping life force.
The key to physical, emotional, and relationship healing is to tap into the stream of life force moving through you.
Lucy made two lists: (1) Stuff I Do Out of Guilt, Fear, Obligation, and Self-Sacrifice; and (2) Stuff I Do Because I Sincerely Feel Moved to Do It.
Then she began to methodically quit or diminish the items on List 1, and expand the items on List 2.
The next time I saw Lucy she looked infinitely brighter, healthier, and more alive.
You were born to be happy. When you place well-being at the top of your priority list, everything else lines up beautifully.
Then you get off the cross you never needed to bear, and inspire the people you love to live their fullest life.

Hi freedom family, I hope you are doing well!
I am now back in Portugal after China, and what an incredible experience it was!
.. to discover firsthand what being in China is really like! Wow! I will write an article about that experience next.
In my previous newsletter I shared with you how my financial buffer that enabled me to be of service for free, and offer Freedom Hypnosis well below the going rate to community, disappeared instantly.
That article was about how with great change, we can fall into fear or feel into our creativity and expand and grow by creating new opportunities for ourselves and others.
So I have a new idea and two great offers!

Portugal, Summer Days, Sessions and You 🌞

Why China Expanded My Mind 🌿
by Robito Chatwin
Hi there beautiful people, I hope you’re doing well. Here it is .. My article on what being in China was really like! .. Enjoy! 🤍
So what do we learn about China?
Something like: China has a totalitarian government; a people controlled by mass surveillance; a brainwashed army; digital currency; and a credit score system that limits people’s movements.
China, some say, is one of the biggest threats to our Western way of life.
I recently returned from a 30-day visit to China.
I am not saying that bad things aren’t happening in China. But I am saying that bad things are happening everywhere. And .. so are good.
My intention is simply to share with you some of my personal observations being in China that challenge the stories we’ve been told, and what we’ve been taught.
This article contains photos and videos.
