During the 1950s Evola saw communism as the most immediate threat to the traditional world. Consequently, contrary to his previous doctrine, he adopted a pro-Western stance. Although both East and the West were portrayed as two jaws of the vise that was holding Europe in its grip, in the short term, the lesser of the two evils was to be preferred. In concrete terms, this meant that Europe had to accept US and Atlantic tutelage. A constant in Evola’s thinking was the need to use the national movement in its anti-subversive capacity in order to protect the country, while simultaneously supporting its ‘healthy organs’ (the army, police and security services).

Another Italian right-wing ideologue, Adriano Romualdi, attempted to translate Evola’s ideas, particularly his ‘pro-Western’ position, into political-strategic terms. ‘If, for us, the West does not exist as “freedom”, at least it exists as a “bloc”, a joint European-American front that is capable of preventing little Europe from being sucked into the vast Soviet lebensraum’, wrote Romualdi. The subject of Europe represented a major concern for Romualdi and the Italian “national right”. According to Romualdi, Europe should be rebuilt as a ‘new order’, the antithesis of the caricature projected by the institutions of Brussels. A united Europe was unthinkable without the revival of fascism, which had demonstrated, before the Second World War, that only the ‘International of Nationalists … international brigades of German, French, Danish, Slav, and Arab warriors fighting for civilization’, along the lines of the Waffen-SS units, was capable of hoisting Europe’s flag.

In order to head toward a united Europe, the first step should consist of a concerted exit of all European nations from the United Nations, which is an illegitimate, promiscuous, and hypocritical association. Sometime around the beginning of this year we began to notice that Instagram had quietly relaxed its content moderation and stopped taking my clips down.

My team and other groypers started posting on instagram and the response was incredible. It seems like overnight I became instagram famous, getting stopped in public by people who saw the clips which were getting millions of views.

It just goes to show that in the absence of blanket censorship and active suppression, I would rapidly become one of, if not the most popular right wing commentator on the internet.

Around the time of my second Hodge Twins interview in the beginning of April it became apparent that the moderation policies were tightening again as all of those clips were quickly taken down.

Finally this morning it appears there was a massive purge of not just my clipping accounts but also the accounts of prominent European nationalist activists. Whatever that “free speech spring” was that seems to have coincided with Trump’s election, it just officially ended.

The timing is certainly interesting coming just a week after two Israeli diplomats were gunned down in DC, and just days after Hasan Piker was banned on Twitch at the behest of the ADL in relation to that shooting.

In April 1944, The XXth Century, an English-language propaganda magazine published in Shanghai until the end of the war, presented European industrial relations under German guidance as a ‘true’ socialism:

Frédéric Chatillon, Axel Loustau and Nicolas Crochet are the architects of the FN's finances. And they are at the heart of four of five criminal investigations into illegal party funding. The men have been Le Pen's friends since she studied law at the Assas faculty in Paris in the early 1990s. Crochet, a certified accountant, drew up 18 of 23 allegedly fake job contracts at the EU parliament for FN party workers. Chatillon and Lousteau ran Riwal, the events company accused of extorting money from former FN candidates and from the state.

The intricate financial schemes detailed in the book and documentary are a long way from the law faculty, which was a hotbed of extreme right-wing militancy. Members of the Groupe Union Défense or GUD kept iron bars and wooden sticks in their office to attack “reds”. Chatillon was active in the “black rats”, the GUD militia, and became the head of GUD in 1992. Denis Le Moal, a former GUD member, told Destal and Turchi how Chatillon started a brawl on the night of his bachelor party by ordering the barman: "You, negro, serve me a drink."

The book includes a French intelligence report dated June 8th, 1993, which records that Chatillon made the Hitler salute while the Marseillaise was sung at a commemoration of the Algerian war, stuck up posters calling the desecration of a Jewish cemetery a "frame-up", opened the GUD to skinheads, and twice visited Leon Degrelle, an ageing Belgian leader of the Nazi Waffen-SS who lived in exile in Madrid.

The development of New European Order offshoots demonstrates that its conception of Europe coincides with white affirmationism:­ there was both a Canadian and a Turkish section. The Turkish Fascists claimed that their ethnic group was a branch of the Aryan race, an idea still embraced by Aleksandr Dugin, the neorightist doctrinaire of Rus­sian imperialism. The international organization maintained strong enough ties to the Francoist regime that it was able to hold its congresses of 1969, 1979, and 1981 in Barcelona. The first of­ these brought together delegates from Germany, France, ­Great Britain, Italy, Sweden, and Switzerland, as well as representatives of the Croatian, Hungarian, Polish, and Romanian refugees. The Belgian, Canadian, Danish, and South African sections sent their regrets.

According to some sources, representatives of the Palestinian Fatah also attended. Jean-­Robert Debbaudt, who wished to place the NEO “in the service of the Palestinian resistance,” supposedly sought to set up a network to recruit mercenaries on behalf of the Popu­lar Front for the Liberation of Palestine, seeking support from the World Union of National Socialists. Like other Right-wing strategists before him, Almirante suggested that “the entire Government apparatus and the nation’s cultural life are being permeated with Marxist ideas and personnel”, and the Left-Centre Coalition was rendering “Kerensky service” to the Communists. The MSI, the “alternative to the System”, was ready to lend a hand in constituting the “big Right-wing movement” (grande destra). The MSI, according to Almirante, was “not the economic-capitalist but national-corporative Right”. On this platform, they would “offer determined resistance to Communism both in Parliament and, if need be, in the streets”. Almirante summed up: “Revolution—yes! By way of revolutionary ideology. But revolution with intelligence. Revolution with the right sort of means for the right sort of aims. No blind actionism”.

Within the last decade, former GUD leader Frédéric Chatillon and Axel Loustau exchanged messages marking the sad anniversary of Hitler’s death. In 2017, Chatillon wrote on his Facebook wall on April 30th, the anniversary of Hitler’s death, in an exchange with Loustau: “we miss him a lot”. Loustau was photographed giving a Roman salute at his birthday party in 2011.

Chatillon sued a journalist who called him a neo-Nazi. Le Moal testified that Chatillon organised a dinner every April 20th to celebrate Hitler’s birthday. He presented a painted portrait of Hitler with the words, “My beloved Fuhrer, he is magnificent”, then kissed the portrait.

The hope for social progress that Den Svenske Nationalsocialisten (The Swedish National Socialist) declares when Hitler took power in 1933 is considered to have been realized ten years later. Lindholm writes in the spring and winter of 1943 that Hitler “honestly strives for the best for his people and wants to implement socialism without second thoughts”, even though the entire socio-economic program has not yet been realized.
