Hitler and Mussolini met for the last time on July 20, 1944, in the Führer Headquarters (Wolf’s Lair) in East Prussia, shortly after Count von Stauffenberg carried out his assassination attempt on Hitler. Hitler greeted his guest at the train with a cry of terror, “Duce, they just unleashed a hellish machine on me”. As photos show, the two dictators stood a little later stunned by the debris of the barracks where the assassination attempt had been carried out. In the short conversation that followed, Hitler, not quite ready to keep up with the events, showed himself to be unusually accommodating to some of Mussolini’s wishes. Mussolini did at least manage to improve the status of the original 600,000 so-called “civilian internees”, i.e. the Fascist soldiers captured by the Wehrmacht after September 8, 1943. On leaving, Hitler is to have said goodbye to Mussolini with remarkable sentimentality: “I know that I can count on you. I ask you to believe that I consider you my best and only friend in the world”.

Visions of Annihilation: The Ustasha Regime and the Cultural Politics of Fascism, 1941–1945

In Visions of Annihilation, Rory Yeomans analyzes the Ustasha movement’s use of culture to appeal to radical nationalist sentiments and legitimize its national revolutionary policies. He shows how the movement attempted to mobilize poets, novelists, filmmakers, visual artists, and intellectuals as purveyors of propaganda and visionaries of a utopian society. Meanwhile, newspapers, radio, and speeches called for the expulsion, persecution, or elimination of “alien” and “enemy” populations to purify the nation. He describes how the dual concepts of annihilation and national regeneration were disseminated to the wider population and how they were interpreted at the grassroots level.

Yeomans examines the Ustasha movement in the context of other fascist movements in Europe. He cites their similar appeals to idealistic youth, the economically disenfranchised, racial purists, social radicals, and Catholic clericalists. Yeomans further demonstrates how fascism created rituals and practices that mimicked traditional religious faiths and celebrated martyrdom.

Visions of Annihilation chronicles the foundations of the Ustasha movement, its key actors and ideologies, and reveals the unique cultural, historical, and political conditions present in interwar Croatia that led to the rise of fascism and contributed to the European revolution that spread across the continent.

On July 23, 1970, David Duke paraded around the Tulane campus in National Socialist uniform to protest a speech by William Kunstler. Duke held up a picket sign. One side read "Kunstler is a Communist Jew." The other: "Gas the Chicago 7."

The speech was made before the Zionist terrorist war was launched in earnest. It became obvious to me and others that the Zionist State and World Zionist Media was orchestrating a coming war with Syria.

In Syria I met with and stayed with many families all over the country. It was a big news Item. Christians and the Moderate Muslims set up a speech for me in the largest public square in Damascus.

They loved my defense of the Syrian people in the West and knew I was one of the most outspoken of Americans on the Zionist menace not only to Syria, but the true interests of Europe and America.

This talk was made before the real fighting started between Israel and Zionist supporters of the jihadist Saudis and the Syrians. Jewish organizations and media all over the world supported the invasion.

On July 24, 1941, the German National Socialist newspaper Völkischer Beobachter published a front-page book review headlined “The Product of Criminal Jewish Sadism: Roosevelt Demands the Sterilization of the German People.”

The book in question was written by the Jew Theodore Kaufman and was titled Germany Must Perish!.

The article stated that “Theodor Kaufmann” had “a monstrous plan for the extermination of the German people and the total fragmentation of Germany,” noting that he was president of the American Federation of Peace and “one of the closest advisers to the New York Jew Samuel Roseman, who as is well known provides advice and assistance in speechwriting to the current president of the United States, Roosevelt. ... Given the close relationship of the writer to the White House, this monstrous war program can be seen as a synthesis of genuine Talmudic hatred and Roosevelt’s views on foreign policy.”

Theodore N. Kaufman summarized Germany Must Perish! in advertisements in The New York Times and New York Post as:

“A dynamic volume outlining a plan for the extinction of Germany and containing a map showing possible dissection and apportionment of its territory.”

Authority and freedom are irreconcilable for introspective intellectuals, but nationalists have seen that they are inextricably linked. The power and the honour of the nation, the sovereignty and dignity of the state, courage, self-sacrifice and loyalty are political realities for nationalism.
These words convey little of the nationalist feeling for life, and it is equally difficult to set out the principles of the nationalist state in a draft constitution. Certainly, the emotions and the state are living realities to the nationalist. But he can only experience the nationalist feeling for life as an urge, and a splendid urge to develop. Germany Must Perish! utilized the expression "final solution" on page 88, and just one week after the front-page Völkischer Beobachter article, on July 31, 1941, Hermann Göring, Hitler's second in command, sent an official order to Reinhard Heydrich, the head of the Security Service (SD) of the SS, using the words "final solution" when authorizing a "Final Solution to the Jewish Question."
