#Moldova: in the first round of the recent presidential election, the incumbent president Maia Sandu (*-EPP) won a plurality of votes in the diaspora, in central and southern districts of the country. Alexandr Stoianoglo (PSRM~LEFT) was more popular in the northern districts, the autonomous region of Gagauzia, and the self-proclaimed region of Transnistria, while Renato Usatîi (PN-*) won in only one district in the north of the country.

#Moldova: alongside the first round of the presidential election, the constitutional referendum on the accession to the European Union took place.

Despite ongoing investigations into vote buying and "unprecedented malign interference by Russia" as described by the EU, the amendment to the Constitution was approved by 50.35% of the voters, with a difference of 10,564 votes in favour. The Constitutional Court validated the referendum yesterday, meaning the Constitution will be amended.
