In Maribor, representatives of the four countries discussed preparations for the International Scientific Conference "Immortal Names"

🌏 The Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly was represented at the meeting by Valery Ruzin, Deputy Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly (Russia) and Chairman of the Council for Historical Memory of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly Laila Akhmetova (Kazakhstan).

The conference will take place in November 2023 and will be dedicated to the identification and preservation of personal data of Soviet prisoners of war - prisoners of the Nazi camp STALAG XVIII D and Soviet citizens - participants of the resistance fighters in Slovenia.

It is planned to invite historians and representatives of veteran organisations from:

Following the results of the workshop, all participants declared their readiness to assist the International Research Center in Maribor in searching for the descendants of the dead prisoners and visiting the IRC Maribor and the Stalag Museum 18 D.

The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, as a partner of the V International Municipal Forum BRICS+ and at the invitation of the organizer - the BRICS+ Business Communications Support Foundation, was presented at the Conference “Development of regional cooperation within the BRICS+ countries”.

🌏 Svetlana Smirnova, First Deputy Secretary General - Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, worked on the presidium.

🌱 The organizers of the Conference prepared thematic round tables, which included negotiations between representatives of Russian regions and 53 foreign embassies located in Russia in B2B and B2G formats.

🗣 "We are convinced that today, through the tools of public diplomacy it is possible to effectively strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between different countries. This suggests that people, no matter what country they live in, want to live in friendship and harmony. Through the tools of public diplomacy, it is possible and necessary to strengthen cooperation not only in the humanitarian and social spheres, but also in the business sphere", — stressed the Deputy Secretary-General of the Assembly.

🇷🇺 Russian President Vladimir Putin in his address to the nation following the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall:

▪️ As far as the investigation of this crime and the results of operational search activities are concerned, it can currently be stated as follows. All four direct perpetrators of the attack, everyone who fired shots and killed people, have been found and detained. They tried to flee and were heading towards Ukraine, where, according to preliminary data, a passage to cross the state border was prepared for them from the Ukrainian side. In total, 11 culprits were detained.

▪️ The Federal Security Service of Russia and other law enforcement agencies are working on identifying and uncovering the entire terrorist network: those who provided them with transportation, planned escape routes from the crime scene, prepared hideouts and caches with weapons and ammunition.

▪️ Investigative and law enforcement agencies will do everything to establish all the details of the crime. But it's already clear that we are not just dealing with a meticulously and cynically planned terrorist act, but with a well-planned organized mass murder of peaceful, defenseless people. The criminals were cold-bloodedly and purposefully killing, shooting our citizens at point-blank range, our children.

▪️ All perpetrators, organizers and sponsors of this crime will face just and inevitable punishment. Whoever they may be, whoever may direct them. I repeat: we will identify and punish everyone who stands behind the terrorists, who prepared this atrocity, this attack against Russia, against our people.

▪️ We are well-acquainted with the threat of terrorism. We count on cooperation with all states that sincerely share our pain and are ready to unite practical efforts to fight the common enemy - international terrorism - in all its manifestations.

▪️ Only one unenviable fate awaits terrorists, murderers, inhumans who have no nationality and cannot have one – retribution and oblivion. They have no future.
