🕯On May 8, on the eve of the 78th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Immortal Regiment procession took place on the territory of the Russian Embassy in the United States.
More than 120 people participated in the action, including teachers and pupils of the school, diplomats, officers, as well as members of their families.

📅 9 мая 1945 года в 0:43 был подписан Акт о безоговорочной капитуляции фашистской Германии, который положил конец Великой Отечественной войне и Второй мировой войне в Европе.
В связи с успешным штурмом Берлина советскими войсками Адольф Гитлер, боясь справедливого возмездия со стороны победителей, предпочёл покончить с собой. Титул рейхспрезидента и командование вооруженными силами Третьего рейха перешла к гроссадмиралу Карлу Дёницу.
Желая сдаться именно англо-американским войскам, 5 мая во французский город Реймс, где располагалась ставка западных союзников, прибыла немецкая делегация.
📜 Подписанный 7 мая в Реймсе Акт в 4 пункте имел оговорку, согласно которой данный документ не исключал подписания другого, окончательного Акта по требованию одного из участников коалиции.
Таким образом документ был признан Советским Союзом лишь в качестве предварительного и было предложено организовать новую церемонию подписания в освобождённой Красной армией столице фашистской Германии — Берлине.
🕕 Ровно в 00:00 9 мая все представители и пресса собрались в зале, где должна была состояться церемония подписания Акта о безоговорочной капитуляции фашистской Германии.
В 0 часов 43 минуты церемония завершилась.
🎙 9 мая 1945 года в 2 часа 10 минут ночи по московскому времени диктор Юрий Левитан зачитал Акт о безоговорочной капитуляции фашистской Германии и Указ Президиума Верховного Совета СССР об объявлении 9 мая праздником Победы. Вечером 9 мая с обращением к советскому народу выступил Иосиф Сталин, после чего Левитан зачитал приказ о полной победе над фашистской Германией и о проведении артиллерийского салюта тридцатью залпами из тысячи орудий в 22 часа.
С этого момента в Советском Союзе. а затем в России и некоторых бывших республиках СССР, 9 мая отмечается День Победы. В эту дату мы вспоминаем всех, кто оборонял Москву, громил захватчиков под Сталинградом, прорывал блокаду Ленинграда, освобождал Европу. Тех, кто ценой своей жизни брал Берлин.

📅 On May 9, 1945, at 12:43 am, the Instrument of Unconditional Surrender of Nazi Germany was signed, ending the Great Patriotic War and World War II in Europe.
Following a successful assault on Berlin by the Red Army, Adolf Hitler committed suicide. The title of Reich President and command of the armed forces of the Third Reich passed to Admiral Karl Dönitz.
Desperate to surrender to the British-American troops, on May 5, German delegation arrived in the French city of Reims, where the headquarters of the Western Allies command was located.
📜 In the Article 4 of the Reims Instrument of Surrender of Nazi Germany stated that this document did not rule out the signing of another, definitive act at the request of one of the coalition members.
Thus, the document was recognised by the Soviet Union only as a preliminary instrument, and a new signing ceremony was proposed to be held in the capital of Nazi Germany, liberated by the Red Army - Berlin.
🕕 By midnight, all representatives and the press gathered in the hall where the signing ceremony of the Instrument of Unconditional Surrender of Nazi Germany was to take place.
At 12:43 am, the ceremony ended.
🎙 On May 9, 1945, at 2:10 am Moscow time, announcer Yury Levitan read out the Instrument of Unconditional Surrender of Nazi Germany and the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR declaring May 9 Victory Day. On the evening of May 9, Joseph Stalin addressed the Soviet people; after his address, Yury Levitan read out the order on the complete victory over Nazi Germany and on an artillery salute with thirty volleys from a thousand guns at 10:00 pm.
From that moment on, the Soviet Union and later Russia, as well as some former Soviet republics have celebrated Victory Day on May 9. On this date, we commemorate all those who defended Moscow, defeated the invaders at Stalingrad, broke through the siege of Leningrad, and liberated Belarus, Ukraine and Europe. These were the people who took Berlin at the cost of their lives.

Обращает на себя внимание всплеск русофобии в США накануне празднования Дня Великой Победы. Власти не только не препятствуют стиранию всего, что связано с Россией, но и сами любыми способами стараются раздуть истерию.
☝️ Совершаются наглые попытки фальсификации фактов о Второй мировой войне. Игнорируется решающий вклад Красной Армии в разгром фашизма. А Советский Союз исключают из числа победителей. При этом незаслуженно рекламируется роль США и Великобритании.
На всех здешних мероприятиях гость №1 - посол Украины от режима Зеленского. Режима, который взращивает бандеровцев. Этот позор - глумление над историей и здравым смыслом.
👉 Бросается в глаза игнорирование местной прессой Дня Победы. Видимо, неудобно отмечать дату, поскольку не обойтись без упоминания самоотверженного подвига Красной Армии.
‼️ Сегодня ночью русофобы осквернили православную часовню на русском участке кладбища в Вашингтоне. На почве антироссийской ненависти вандалы посягнули на святое. В церкви совершен разбой. Взломаны двери, разбиты окна, осквернены иконы, закрашены фрески. Разгромлены многие места упокоения русских верующих.
Призываем американские власти одуматься и прекратить потакать нацистам ради конъюнктурных соображений. Надо быть честными перед павшими героями. Хватит искажать историю. Поощрение неонацизма и русофобии неприемлемо.
❌ Второй год подряд усилиями администрации США сорвана поездка американских участников Второй мировой войны на Парад Победы. На фронтовиков оказывалось беспрецедентное давление. Их даже запугивали аннулированием паспортов, чтобы они не могли вылететь в Россию и принять участие в праздновании 78-й годовщины Великой Победы. Американские ветераны так долго ждали поездки в Москву. Надеялись увидеть Красную площадь и обнять своих братьев по оружию. Они понимают, что в следующем году это сделать будет еще труднее. Американские власти, по существу, не дали мечте фронтовиков реализоваться, не допустили новых объятий ветеранов, теперь уже в центре Москвы.
🤝 Этот шаг оскорбителен не только для ветеранов, сражавшихся против нацизма, но и всех, кто помнит священный подвиг. Мы хотим, чтобы американские фронтовики знали, что Россия гордится их вкладом в общую Победу. Враждебная политика США не подорвет дух боевого товарищества времен Великой Отечественной войны. Считаем своим долгом защищать правду о героях.

The upsurge of Russophobia in the United States on the eve of Great Victory Day celebrations catches the eye. The U.S. authorities not only do not prevent the erasure of anything related to Russia, but they themselves are trying to stir up hysteria in every possible way.
☝️ There are brazen attempts to falsify the facts of World War II. The decisive contribution of the Red Army to the defeat of fascism is ignored. And the Soviet Union is excluded from the number of winners. At the same time, the role of the United States and Great Britain is undeservedly advertised.
The No. 1 guest at all of events here is the Ukrainian ambassador from the Zelensky regime. A regime that cultivates the Banderites. This disgrace is a mockery of history and common sense.
👉 It is striking that the local press ignores Victory Day. Apparently, it is inconvenient to mark the date and not mention the selfless feat of the Red Army.
‼️ Tonight Russophobes desecrated an Orthodox chapel in the Russian section of the cemetery in Washington. Driven by the anti-Russian hatred, perpetrators encroached on the sacred. The church was ransacked. Doors and windows were broken, icons defaced, and murals painted over. Many resting places of Russian believers were vandalized.
We urge the American authorities to come to their senses and stop indulging the Nazis for opportunistic reasons. We must be honest before the fallen heroes. Stop distorting history. Encouraging neo-Nazism and Russophobia is unacceptable.
❌ For the second year in a row, the efforts of the U.S. administration disrupted the trip of American participants in World War II to the Victory Parade. Unprecedented pressure was put on the veterans. They were even intimidated by the revocation of their passports, so that they could not fly to Russia and take part in the celebration of the 78th anniversary of the Great Victory. American veterans had waited so long to go to Moscow. They hoped to see the Red Square and embrace their brothers in arms. They realize that next year this will be even harder to do. The U.S. authorities essentially did not let the dream of the veterans from coming true, prevented another embrace of the veterans, now in the center of Moscow.
🤝 This move is insulting not only to the veterans who fought against Nazism, but to all those who remember the sacred feat. We want American veterans to know that Russia is proud of their contribution to the common victory. Hostile U.S. policy will not undermine the spirit of World War II fighting camaraderie. We consider it our duty to defend the truth about the heroes.
