⚠️ The construction of this nuclear power plant and the preparations for operation are in full compliance with the IAEA’s rules and recommendations. Mr. Grossi, who is attending our ceremony, has just said that the Akkuyu NPP’s multi-level security system is one of the most sophisticated and reliable in the world.

💬 В.В.Путин: Многие ваши предшественники, первые российские парламентарии горячо и искренне отстаивали интересы людей, заботились о народном благе, стремились принести пользу родной стране, считали своим высшим долгом и призванием жить и трудиться ради Отчизны.
❗️Такие патриотические идеалы важны во все времена, тем более для нас, для России – страны-цивилизации, одного из самобытных, суверенных центров огромного многополярного мира.
🔹Сегодня в условиях экономической агрессии Запада парламенту, Правительству, всем региональным и местным органам власти нужно действовать чётко и быстро, работать как одна сплочённая, слаженная команда.
🔹Первоочередной заботой парламента всегда должно быть повышение качества жизни и доходов людей.
☝️Новые инициативы по развитию социальной сферы и экономики, суверенной системы образования… Специально употребил словосочетание «суверенной системы образования», важнейший элемент нашей совместной работы, в этом – будущее нашей страны.
🤝Дополнительную, огромную значимость приобретает парламентская дипломатия. Наши партнёры, или уже, можно сказать, бывшие партнёры, в некоторых странах маниакально разрушают правовую базу и каналы диалога, пытаются навязать всем свои взгляды и так называемые правила. ❓Какие правила? Уже много раз говорил. Их никто не видел. Кто их написал, эти правила? У себя где-то под одеялом пишут и сами под одеялом там что-то с этим делают. Но мы к ним под одеяло лезть не будем. Но и следовать их правилам тоже не собираемся.
‼️Повторю: на самоизоляцию Россия уходить не собирается. Наоборот, будем расширять прагматичные, равноправные, взаимовыгодные, исключительно партнёрские отношения с дружественными странами и в Евразии, в Африке, в Латинской Америке.
🔹В Штатах, кстати говоря, у нас много людей, которые думают с нами одинаково, в Европе. Элиты ведут себя по-другому. Им это ещё аукнется.

🗓 28 апреля 2004 года на телеканале CBS был показан сюжет об издевательствах военнослужащих США над заключёнными в печально известной тюрьме Абу-Грейб в Ираке.
После совершённого под ложным предлогом, а, по сути, ничем не спровоцированного вторжения Вашингтона и его союзников в Ирак в 2003 году расположенная недалеко от Багдада тюрьма стала основным местом содержания иракцев, обвинённых в «преступлениях» против вооружённых сил западной коалиции.
Напомним, что после 11 сентября 2001 года США легализовали применение пыточных «технологий» к подозреваемым в терроризме, которые широко применялись как в развёрнутом на базе в Гуантанамо концлагере, так специальных тюрьмах ЦРУ по всему миру.
❗️ Абу-Грейб в этом плане своего рода испытательный полигон, где заключенных пропускали через конвейер избиений, имитации утопления, изнасилований и травли собаками, а также мучали звуковыми атаками, лишением сна и пищи, подвергали издевательствам электрическим током, иным физическим и нравственным унижениям. Попавшие в застенки иракцы, если им посчастливилось выбраться живыми, получили серьёзные увечья.
Несмотря на предание широкой огласке информации о происходивших в Абу-Грейб истязаниях, в том числе благодаря расследованию американского журналиста С.Херша, виновными были признаны всего 11 военнослужащих США, большинство из которых получили лишь небольшие сроки.
При этом лица, занимавшие высшие государственные должности, а также высокопоставленные сотрудники Пентагона к ответственности привлечены так и не были, невзирая на многочисленные свидетельства об их причастности к связанным с пытками преступлениям.
❌ Зверства в Абу-Грейб – ярчайшая иллюстрация избирательности и политики двойных стандартов США в сфере прав человека. Подобная практика носит системный характер, о чём свидетельствует и бесчеловечное обращение с заключёнными в Гуантанамо, которая продолжает функционировать по сей день, несмотря на многочисленные призывы международного сообщества о её закрытии.

💬 Sergey Lavrov: Our wish is that no security threats come from the territory of Ukraine. These threats have accumulated there for years, especially after the state coup in February 2014. Another wish of ours is that people who consider themselves Russian speakers, members of the Russian culture and faith, which they have always practiced through the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, will not be subjected to discrimination, persecution and threats of extermination.
• We have long come to the conclusion that we can only rely on ourselves and those who honour their agreements. We will never again rely on those who lie, who constantly deceive others and who try to gain illegitimate unilateral advantage.
• The sanctions against Russia are indeed something that nobody has ever seen or been able to imagine. But for us it is a resolved issue. We have all the capacities to be independent from this sort of behaviour by our Western colleagues who have proven their complete inability to negotiate.
• There are those in the EU who do want to allow Ukraine to join on an expedited basis. That will just show that it has nothing to do with meeting the criteria but that it’s just a geopolitical game of laying paws on as much territory as possible which will belong to no one.

• We are witnessing the continued transformation of the structure of international relations. A striking example of multipolar diplomacy is the work of multilateral associations of a new type such as the SCO and BRICS.
❗️ It makes perfect sense that Washington and its satellites’ efforts to reverse the course of history and make the international community live according to the “rules-based order” they invented are failing. I will mention only one of them, the Westerners’ policy to isolate Russia.
• In today's multipolar world, in the face of cross-border challenges and threats, the only reasonable alternative to confrontation (those who initiate confrontations will lose, too) is to combine the efforts of key global centres on the principles of the UN Charter, including respect for the sovereign equality of states ensured in practice. Everyone needs to recognise the irreversibility of the emergence of a more equitable polycentric international system.
