There was a surge in births to NH white women in April, so we may see NH white % decline a bit in May. April is not typically a popular birth month, so I doubt it just reflects seasonal trends.

📝 CIG Note: White births appear to be back above 50%, given steady declines in minority fertility while NHW fertility has remained relatively stable.

The myth of Viking "diversity":

The largest genetic study ever conducted on the Viking Age found one single non-White individual out of 1,305 samples: A Uralic Saami, VK518.

This individual was approximately 70% European and 30% East Asian Siberian, very similar to 6th century Saami from Levanluhta in western Finland.

Another individual, VK519, had mixed Swedish & Saami ancestry. They were ~15% East Asian, similar to some modern Finnish people.

There hasn't been a single Middle Eastern, North African, or Sub-Saharan African sample found in the entirety of Viking Age Scandinavia.
