Well, well, well… looks like the crypto Wild West just got a little wilder.

Northern Europe's largest Apple reseller, Humac, has been hacked by the Kraken group, who leaked confidential company data, including financial reports and customer records, on the dark web.

Cisco Talos reports Kraken, a HelloKitty successor, is a cross-platform RaaS targeting Windows/ESXi. The malware uniquely benchmarks CPU/IO to optimize encryption speed and uses Cloudflared/SSHFS for persistence.

Kraken exchange faces extortion after a staff member misused access to record internal systems, about 2,000 accounts affected, no funds or systems breached.
