I know in my heart that mushrooms, both psychedelic and non-psychedelic, hold incredible potential as part of the future of healing—especially for mental and neurological conditions. I need to get something off my chest and I just want to come clean and be honest with y’all today. Today is my sister Jessica’s 38th birthday, and honestly it’s usually a hard day for me. I can’t help but drift into the past and feel guilty that I haven’t helped her more. For years I’ve been telling people I’m going to get her talking again, and I still haven’t given her that first dose of psilocybin mushrooms. It’s been tough because this medicine has been so demonized that people fear it and don’t understand its real healing potential—my parents included. I’ve used it myself and it changed my brain for the better, and there’s solid research showing what it can do. But their fear made me hesitate, and I didn’t have the courage to push forward. I’m finally over that. We’re at a point where everyone’s ready to try this natural medicine to help her, and I’m really excited to give her her first dose soon. I know guilt is a negative emotion that can overwhelm you, but I’m choosing faith, hope, and staying positive. I’m going to get through this day strong, and I truly believe in my heart that on God’s timing, I’m going to get her talking again. And when I’m successful and this mushroom medicine truly works, maybe God will allow Jessica’s situation to prove to the world that this natural thing He created is truly a gift from Him. 👆🏽 There are levels to awakening, and I’m learning that love and compassion are the only true path.
My heart has softened. I no longer feel the need to shame or attack liberals, or anyone who sees things differently. I used to do that myself, just as strongly as anyone, and I’m truly sorry for the times I contributed to division. But the more I sit with Jesus’s teachings, the clearer it becomes: He calls us to love everyone, without exception — and to actually live the things He taught us to do.
Somewhere along the way, His message has been twisted and narrowed until the main focus became simply believing He died on the cross, while so much of what He actually told us to live out — showing mercy, feeding the hungry, forgiving, loving our enemies, being a light in the world — gets pushed aside. That beautiful, active love He modeled feels forgotten when it should be at the center.
He wouldn’t want His followers carrying hearts full of anger or contempt. When we truly open ourselves to His words, something inside us changes. Love begins to replace judgment. Compassion replaces condemnation.
If we truly follow Jesus, we show love and compassion to all — no exceptions — and we do the things He asked us to do. That’s the light I want to walk in now, and I hope it touches whoever needs it.

All these tell you God is in you until Jesus says in Him you have peace (He’s in you) but in the world you have tribulation. He says He overcame the world shortly after saying:

“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.”
John 14:12

So, why would you not look within yourself where God says He is and commune with Him? Why would meditation be deemed bad by many Christians when God says He abides in you? When you understand the literal meaning of “repent” in its original is to change your mind, doesn’t it seem absolutely vital that you should meditate, commune with God, analyze your own mind, and work to change it so He can bring forth more in you?

Every Christian ought to be meditating to listen for God and to begin to control your own mind. And if you want an example, there still exist Christian monks who have never stopped meditating for the last 1700 years. So, when you have a prayer time (talking TO God), build in a mediation time (listening FOR God) of 10-15 minutes as well or find other time to be still and present to change your mind!

Is it possible we’ve been misled or misunderstood this verse? That we all have the power or ability to heal through touch and prayer, combining the two? As a physical therapy assistant, I touch people and remove their pain daily through hands-on pressure and manipulation. What if practicing Reiki could make me even better at it? Just challenging what we’ve been taught—I’m not claiming it’s the full truth, but the connection between Reiki healing and what Jesus did is worth exploring
