An Il-76 series plane was used to transport weapons, ammunition, and food to El Fasher, where the Sudanese army has been repelling attacks from the Rapid Support Forces for several months.
The plane was shot down on its return journey 130 km north of El Fasher, a source in the Rapid Support Forces involved in the conflict in Sudan told the agency.
