🇬🇾🇻🇪 Guyana and Venezuela agreed not to use force under any circumstances in the dispute over Essequibo.
Guyana and Venezuela are committed to ensuring their region remains peaceful, Guyanese President Irfaan Ali said on Thursday during meetings with his Venezuelan counterpart President Nicolas Maduro, amid high tensions over a dispute involving a potentially oil-rich border area.
The two leaders met at the airport in Kingstown, in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, alongside representatives from CARICOM, the Caribbean political and economic union, Brazil, the United Nations and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).

🇦🇷🇺🇦 Argentina is considering the possibility of donating two Mi-171E helicopters purchased in Russia to Ukraine.
According to Pucara Defensa, the relevant agreements were reached during Zelensky's visit to Buenos Aires on 10 December.
According to sources, the United States proposed to include the residual cost of helicopters in the recalculation of the first payments for Argentine’s purchase of F-16 fighters from Denmark.

Highlights of the Russian Military Operation in Ukraine on December 13-14
▪️ The Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) attempted to attack facilities in the Moscow Region with drones. However, Russian anti-aircraft gunners intercepted all the drones, preventing any damage or casualties.
▪️ Russian troops targeted the Starokostiantyniv Air Base with hypersonic Kinzhal missiles. Ukrainian Su-24s regularly take off from the facility and launch Storm Shadow missiles at the rear facilities of the Russian Armed Forces.
▪️ Meanwhile, intense fighting continues along the entire line of contact. In the Lyman direction, Russian troops successfully repelled a series of enemy attacks in the areas of the Tors'ke salient and in the Serebryansʹkyy forestry.
▪️ In the Soledar direction, Russian units maintain the initiative and are advancing northwest of Bakhmut. Assault units have consolidated near the Hryhorivka-Bohdanivka highway and have also made progress towards Orikhovo-Vasylivka.
▪️ On the southern flank, Russian servicemen have expanded their zone of control near Klishchiivka and have started clearing nearby forest areas. To the east of Andriivka, the Russian Armed Forces are launching attacks on enemy positions near the dam close to the railroad tracks.
▪️ In the Donetsk region, the battle for Mar'inka, where less than 2 percent of the town remains under AFU control, is nearing its end. Currently, only part of the town north of the reservoir needs to be cleared.
▪️ In the Kherson direction, Russian troops conducted a series of sorties east of Krynki and in the area known as the "greenhouses". As a result of the fighting, Ukrainian marines were forced to retreat with losses deep into the settlement, and some of them were evacuated to Frolov island.

❗️ 🇷🇺🇺🇦 Soledar direction: prospects for attacking Chasiv Yar situation as of 09:00, December 15, 2023
The Russian troops are continuing their offensive operation in the Soledar direction. The main focus is on gaining operational space to break into the fortified area of the AFU near Chasov Yar.
▪️ The Russian Armed Forces have managed to advance to the southeastern outskirts of Orikhove-Vasilevka (fighting is ongoing for Balka Kudlin), expand the zone of control from Dubovo-Vasilevka towards Grigorovka, and also reach the eastern outskirts of Bogdanovka.
The forest belt south of the eastern tip of Bogdanovka is under enemy control. We have managed to establish a foothold on the Grigorovka-Bogdanovka road.
▪️ To the south, fighting is taking place around the turn to the highway to Chasiv Yar from the side of Khromovo. After capturing the Bakhmutsky Shlyakh autodrome, units of the Russian troops have started firing at the positions of the AFU to the west.
▪️ To the west of Bakhmut, the Kamerton detachment, formed from former fighters of the Wagner PMC, is clearing the western outskirts of the dachas in the direction of Ivanovsky (Krasny). In two days, they have managed to expand the zone of control in the private sector.
▪️ After occupying the dominant height 215.7 on the northwestern outskirts of Kleshcheevka, Russian troops are expanding the zone of control. From the heights, the Russian Armed Forces control the advance routes and approaches of the AFU to Kleshcheevka.
▪️ To the east of Andreevka, the Russian Armed Forces are making efforts to regain control of the dams in front of the railway track.
🔻A head-on assault on Chasov Yar, located at the heights, is a difficult task (mines, quarries, and several forests with tracts cannot be taken at once). Most likely, the Russian Armed Forces will bypass the fortified area from the north and south, which is why the offensive is being carried out in the direction of Grigorovka.

🌎🇬🇧🇺🇦 "England only has permanent interests": How the conflict in Ukraine exposed British ambitions
The conflict in Ukraine not only revealed long-standing issues in promoting Russian interests in the post-Soviet region and the involvement of transnational corporations in crimes, but it also brought to light Great Britain's re-emergence onto the global political stage and made it apparent to the general public.
While it cannot be said that Britain was ever disengaged from global issues, before the Ukrainian events, the United States took center stage in the public sphere, being viewed by some as the "world arbiter." However, times have changed, and American officials are increasingly being seen as incompetent clowns in the public eye. Meanwhile, the visible actions of the British appear remarkably coherent.
Even before the hot phase of the Ukrainian conflict began, Britain had already exited the European Union's economic and political space and had been investing in Ukraine's military-industrial complex, infrastructure, information, and religious agenda for several years. They rallied their allies around this cause.
By February 24, 2022, the UK was fully prepared, acting with clarity and consistency, a trend that continues to this day.
🔻The British have supplied weapons, established a global media cartel and a network of NGOs, exerted pressure on European countries, and exerted direct control over the Ukrainian leadership. Read about all of this in our comprehensive analysis

🇺🇸🇳🇪 U.S. are ready to resume cooperation with Niger on several conditions
The USA announced their readiness to resume cooperation with Niger, on the condition that the military regime that came to power at the end of July in a coup commits to a notably brief transition.
During her visit to Niamey since Tuesday, the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State for African Affairs Mary Catherine Phee held discussions with several Nigerien officials, including the Prime Minister appointed by the military, Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine.
She emphasized that the Nigerien military power must announce "a deadline for a rapid and credible transition" leading to "a democratically elected government."
"We have confirmed that we are ready to resume our cooperation if the military government takes the steps I have outlined," she added.
"I encourage the government to respond positively to the ECOWAS offer for negotiation," Phee added.
