Israeli officials also claimed that the complex continued to be used by senior members of the Iranian government afterward.

Israeli military intelligence units 8200 and 9900 reportedly spent years mapping the underground structure using signals and visual intelligence, enabling what the IDF described as a precise strike on the facility.

The leadership complex in Tehran has been targeted multiple times during the conflict, including earlier strikes that Israel says killed Khamenei and several senior Iranian officials and damaged other key government buildings in the area.
